I still read less acclaimed novels, so that I dont miss any gem like this one...

This guy, Novoneel, is a helluva guy. He has lot of things going on his minds. This book might even astound a saint.

For the writing, there were many grammatical flaws, but they hinder me in any way, not a single time. Mainly, it is the story of a girl, named Radhika Sharma, believe that, what the caption says, "The reward for every true love is not love". The story is damn touching.

After, when I was done reading the book, I felt like taking a stroll outside. And when I did it, I had this strange feelings. I dont know the root of the feeling but I felt a foot taller, when I was walking. Yeah, that was how I felt. It might sound weird - infact, very wierd. I have no clue what that feeling signifies, but that was how I trully felt.

Note: Before you read this book, I warn you, it might have a very moving effect on you. At least, it had such effect on me. And then, I dont prescribe the same effect on you because maybe its the situation I am in made me feel that effect. But it is not an ordinary novel for ordinary readers. It is well above many things. At the end, it might dump you in more confusion. As it has more questions than answers. The questions are above the existence. More enlightening.

Refreshing read. Or rather, enlightening read...

We have one book "That Kiss in the Rain" by Novoneel Chakraborty which we have bought almost 3 years back, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Last month we saw the new edition of "A Thing Beyond Forever" s cover in our mail. So there was no reason for us to hold back. A chance to review one of the best selling author's limited edition book.

Unlike the previous cover, this cover is just fantastic. It is really eye-catching. Though my husband wanted to review this book, the moment he unwrapped the courier I booked it. So here I am to discuss what else I found good in the book apart from the cover.

Coming to the story part, Radhika is our protagonist, an ambitious doctor, who found solace in reading than unnecessary gossiping. She started reading the diary of her childhood friend Raen. It contained how he felt for her & how deeply in love with her. And then there was also a part about reincarnation, which made Radhika feel whether things happened due to coincidence or as part of a greater plan.

Good points about the book.
1. Wonderful concept
2. Storytelling part is mesmerizing
3. The way thing unfolded you can visualize them
4. A good way of amalgamation of spiritual discussion as well

Things that can hinder a casual reader
1. Heavy vocabulary. At places, you may need to use a dictionary
2. At places, the spiritual discussion became lengthy
3. New learner/entrants may face difficulty in reading it

I have to just say it is by far the best novel I have ever read, it is simple amazing, outstanding and touched my heart.... it depicts a pure form of love which remains even after death.. there is suspense, theme, romance, adventure,... and everything that is required 4 a good novel.. it is a must-read for every novel reader... 

I find myself so lucky to read that book......I would like to thank the author from the bottom of my heart for creating such a wonderful piece of art.....:)

It is a perfect epitome of true love..
A really sweet and nice story which gently explores the idea of reincarnation and that true love is above the bounds of time..
it beautifully explores all the emotions we go through our adolescence.. attraction for one, love for another.. extent to which v go to make that person ours... its a really touching story with a shocking climax and has burned a firm impression on my mind that it is impossible to forget our first love..
It has actually made me think if I am also somebody's reincarnation...LOLS  somebody's first love... who is trying to get to me through the bounds of time... and bounds of life and death..

No wonder he said that "some one some where is waiting for you.. dreams of you and loves you":)

So finally after so so long i'm getting to write something good about some book. Otherwise i was coming across books full of crap for so long.

The book, i wish, could be described in a word, but there's just so much. unlike others i would spare the storyline, which you can obviously get from other comments.

So getting to the analysis og the book, lets start with the pros. The book was very much gripping and i loved the way story line is taken. Just when we start wondering, "Oh this is the another usual story of another lost love story, the writer brought in a master of twist in it and the twists got even more twisted only to pull us more into the book.

it takes a lot of guts and confidence to w2rite a script that has no living proof and is much like a fantasy and yet believably realistic.

Like i always mention, if a book affects your mind and it makes you analyse the meaning behind it, and keeps you lost in it even after you finish it...the book is a hit. this book was surely a hit for me.

The writer's portrayal of true love, life, suffering and most importanly Re-birth leaves us thinking deeply about it. Well i almost started to believe that there is rebirth possible. Amongst the writers who write dark humour, campus chick-lits and the usual struggle-lose-break up- win back the lost love stories...Novoneel's 'A Thing Beyond Forever' stood out and gave me something new to read.

The climax (not just the epilogue) was beautiful, touching and deserves appreciation.

Moving onto the cons...Too much of detailing was there, it did sometime piss me. it could have been slightly less.

The book until the end of diary entry was not really gripping. the flashback story could have been slightly more innovative. it was a very predictable story of past. the book turned out to be the original page turner only after the Laye's drawing book enters, That is when last 60 pages of the book is left to read.

The author has filled in the book with so much philosophy that half of it went above my head. looking at life in such a philosophical way by almost every character did not help us to relate ourselves with the characters.
So as per my final verdict, you can read this book once if you are willing to read some fantasy fiction which gives a story on love and rebirth. It wasn't very unreal though. Good job!

Ok...now this is exactly the type of book that you can cannot get your mind off or get past the Hangover or atleast it's me that's been struggling with it, now Novoneel has the heart of a lady that he penned down such a beautiful, sensitive and out of the box love story that refuses to follow any stereo types & knocks the readers at every turning point that can trick the story to become predictable. Its a gem of a book & great story that is further complimented by beautiful & charming literature & proficient vocabulary that almost trick u that whether you are reading or following a Girl(Radhika, the central protagonist)as she dangles and struggles emotionally through pain & loss & further confusion. Also the diary like approach to book gives a strong connect to minds & psyche of the viewers & gives it a relatability factor that is quite strong. Now there are some drawbacks as the book at time may seem too melancholic or far fetched towards the climax but the insights into the vulnerable psyche of today's youth is commendable.May remind that this book is not everyone's cup of tea as it is not the usual candy floss fairy tail love story with lots of sex.But this is the sole reason why we go for good books rather than bad movies to say the least.Overall the pain of the central character resonates quite well with the viewers & a philosophical take on love, life & relationship s by Novoneel Chakraborty makes the book absorbing & prevents it from falling in trap of an average rebirth story.Thumbs up to the book Nd I liked the style of writing that author has used in this book. Its a story that will stay in Ur mind for ages due to the fact that it is quite touching & raises many questions at the same time.A must for everyone at some points ov there lives as painful story of another person can heal your pain as it is therapeutic as well as inspiring.Good work Novoneel sahab!!!

I am done reading one of those books by Srishti Publication which got released long back in 2010. I have this book since then but I, finally, got time to read it now. "A thing beyond forever" which also has a tagline "The reward for every true love is not love" is a debut 212-pages novel written by the then debutante- Novoneel Chakraborty- is an Indian author and screenplay writer. His other works include That Kiss in the Rain and How about a sin tonight? His writing is inspired by the likes of Haruki Murakami, R. K. Narayan, and Ayn Rand. It explores various aspects of life, particularly the tug-of-war between the light and dark sides of human nature. Novoneel Chakraborty is a full-time writer. He is working on two Hindi film projects as a scriptwriter. He has also written a script for an award-winning Bengali filmmaker. He maintains a blog titled Novosphere, where he writes one-paragraph stories on inspiration and life. Chakraborty is based in Mumbai, India.

The synopsis of the book says-
A Thing Beyond Forever - The Reward For Every True Love Is Not Love presents Radhika Sharma, a doctor who has an aura of being arrogant and unemotional. Yet, she is a sensitive woman, who still deeply feels the pain of the loss of her one true love.
She fell in in love with Raen while they were both at high school. Raen, however, is attracted to another girl, Savera. But eventually, Radhika’s bold expression of her feelings for him turns him towards her. Yet, he still seems to remain attracted to Savera.
It is now 15 years since that time. Radhika is now a successful doctor and seems dispassionate and free of any softer sentiments in her life. Yet, an innocent enquiry from a boy at the hospital sets in motion a series of events that prompt her to reexamine her attitude towards life.
Radhika, by her own confession, has not even looked at a picture of Raen for years. But, she has always kept his personal diary through the years. She hadn't read it, but the boy’s question prompts her to do so now.
The story then unfolds in the form of a personal journal. The plot takes many strange twists and turns, going into philosophy and the idea of rebirth. For Radhika, the answer to her questions about life and love are slowly revealed. And now, she has to make a decision about her future based on these revelations.
The book goes beyond chick-lit romance and explores deeper questions. The author attempts to answer some of those questions, while the rest are left to the readers’ interpretations. The interesting, complicated story line and the well-crafted characters are the highlights of this love story.

Coming to the author, Novoneel has been one of the young authors who have been favorite of many readers who like reading love stories. But I find him more matured than just a chic-lit author. I read his 3rd and the most recent book- How About a Sin Tonight? and I found him a good intense writer who tries to bring out the secret and back ground of the whole movement that he is writing on. There he wrote on Bollywood industry and it made me read this novel that is his first. And I have found this love story a book on philosophy and some one-liners that can give you answer of some confusing questions about life. Hence, it can be easily said that Novoneel is not just a story teller but is helping youths through his writings. Just after this, I am going to read his 2nd novel with which I would have read all the 3 novels written by him till date.:-)

A Thing Beyond Forever does not seem to be a work by a debutant writer instead you will feel as if its written by someone who has experienced a lot in life. It's hard to believe that its by a writer who is as young as me.:-) Book starts with a love making scene which turns out to be dream of Radhika. A good way to start a book by giving an erection to male readers and equally orgasmic sensation in female readers. Haha. As soon as the Raen's diary part begins, the story becomes interesting as we come to know how Radhika's past has been and what connection does Raen has with her. Then the way Raen's confusion over two girls is been narrated confuses us because we find his dilemma obvious. Story makes us sympathize with Radhika. Later on, as soon as the diary parts end, a shocker comes which gives reader an unwanted sensation as he expects a good event. Later on, the little adventure which Radhika goes through also makes us curious to know about what relation does she have with a 9 years old boy. In the end, I would say I was expecting much with the climax but it wasn't up to the mark. In all I would give the book 3.75/5. A perfect read.

Thanks.

A Thing Beyond Forever
I still vividly remember that afternoon of 2019, when I was scouring through THE CROSSWORDS, specifically for Contemporary Indian Authors. To my surprise, a whole section was dedicated to the Indian Fiction stacked with new authors, their dreams dusting away on the shelf. Frankly, they looked like those middle and back benchers whose existence hardly mattered to anyone.

I looked at the Best Seller section, 'the front benchers' and could not help but be disheartened. It was unfortunate to see how only a select few received the accolades, in spite of being unworthy of it. Whereas the much deserving lay in the rack, sandwiched between other books, waiting to be discovered.

It was in one such sandwiched state, that I found this book. The first glance of the book wasn't that appealing as the cover page was old and unappealing. Still, I had resolved to buy at least few of them, so I picked it up along with other few. The title seemed interesting and much to my taste, something mystical, something intense.

So, I picked up the book that night to read with almost no expectations in my mind as the other book which I had bought in the same lot by Savi Sharma was AN UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT.

I read one chapter, then the other, then the other and before I knew it, I was sucked up into the alternate world carved by Novoneel, beautifully portrayed in the characters and written thoughtfully.

The story line was absolutely unexpected and thrilling. I had finished the book by the next morning. I remember, texting my bestie, demanding that she buy this book and give it a read. It was an amazing night.

Just one fact that I cannot overlook is that, the writer had tried to elevate his writing, not by complex sentence constructions, rather by using advanced synonyms for the simple words. This worked in few instances. However for most of it, it felt completely unnecessary.

Other than this, the book is an must read for those who enjoy reading contemporary young adult fiction. This is definitely different than the lot.

Ok well...... I really found this book quite inspiring and glad that I have a pearl in my collection......
this is the first book in my life which is supposed to change my feelings over love.... I am sure I still have to read this book once again to completely immerse in this book...
drooling over the pros of this book:
> the story is intriguing and to be so honest quite fascinating so that any reader usually cease reading once he touches the last line of the book...
> the plot is absolutely very new and amazingly developed by the author..... the narration is interesting and I hope it will keep you captivating with the book since the very beginning.
> the author is expectedly successful in imbibing all the emotional feelings by nurturing them with respective wording.... I mean many few authors would achieve that.
>the final piece of advise that author wants to give to the world is moving on after the failure in love is hardly impossible and death is the sole death of love.... I agree to it.... but is it what works in practical....... hardly even possible....
but this is not the reason why I have given here 3 rating....
discussing the con's.... here we go:.
> the narration is too slow.... that for every sentence spoken out by the narrator, there is nearly 20 lines of explanation..... emotional outburst is encouraging but total out of link is sick.....
> too much philosophy...... the ratio of narration to philosophy is 1:10.... apparently this is what makes the book look bulge, otherwise it is not more than piece of short story........
> too high literature.... I don't mean it is a drawback of the book.... but he generally used very high vocabulary most irrelevantly which can be easily coped up by slight easy diction.... >basic English learners who believe their speaking skills can be developed by reading easy English novels.... please get out of this book, if at all you personally don't want to regret after purchasing this book for your sake....
> the ending is so excruciating....... its not so unusual in novoneel books that the end is of unsatisfying mystery and that remorse we get after reading his books is completely a matter of sadness..

So to be honest, "A Thing Beyond Forever" by Novoneel Chakroborty is a quite matured piece of literary work and does not actually seem to be his debut novel. I was really impressed with Novoneel's style of writing, English vocabulary and his flow of words after reading the novel.

Actually, after reading the "Prologue" -first chapter in the novel, I was literally blown away by the creative portrayal of the delicate human emotions with the use of clever Metaphors, similes and poetic style. However, one thing that I must honestly admit is that Novoneel has put in a lot of effort and used a lot of English vocabulary words in the first chapter of his debut novel which were hard to comprehend for me. But as the novel progressed, the words used in the novel became simpler and easier to comprehend.

The book revolves around the character of "Radhika" - a young, hard-working doctor who goes through some bizarre series of incidents that lead her to her first love in a fantasy re-birth scenario. However, please do not mistake this novel to be one of those cliched chick-lit romance fictions. Instead, this novel asks deeper, philosophical questions about true love, trust, suffering, emotions, re-birth, life & death and makes us contemplate hard on these metaphysical, spiritual aspects of life.

The book asks a lot of questions and allows the reader to interpret the answers to them and actually affects our mind and its perceptions related to life. I believe any novel that can have a deep impact on our perceptions and thinking is bound to be called a "Good Novel". Kudos to Novoneel Chakroborty for writing such a well-crafted novel that provokes our thoughts and makes us ponder.

I will urge all the bibliophiles out there to try this novel and will rate "A Thing Beyond Forever" 4 out of 5 stars. Also try Novoneel's other works especially "The Stranger Triology" and "Ex" which are fast paced psychological thrillers that leave the readers captivated.

I read this book while I was going through a hormonal change called teenage. I used to read each and every piece of fiction I would come across either through begging my friends or renting out from newsstands.
Coming to the pros, its a very detailed and emotional one, easily setting it apart from the average love-stories on the stands. The author's writing skills are commendable and to me as a school-goer, I found it a little difficult at times to interact with the language and the meaning. But throughout the book, I appreciated the patience and detail-oriented writing by Novoneel. I remember searching for cover page to see if I could catch "Who is this guy!"
This brings sad memories of how it almost became a torture for me to end the book, with such details that I started losing my patience and never-ending descriptions. If it were not the last-minute surprise at the end, I would have totally lost it before giving it a 2-star.
Needless to say, I wasn't much surprised with the script and the overwhelming vocabulary but the author's sincerity and competency compelled me to give 4-stars to this book.

Well done Novoneel and a good read everyone:)

First and Foremost, stories by Novoneel Chakraborty always has a twist. I sometimes wonder if there weren't twist in his stories, would I have read his book?? the answer is Nah.
Talking about this book 'A Thing Beyond Forever', the story is simple but one the most sincere lovers (not me) can relate to. A Doctor still madly in love with her first school crush even after his death. Not wanting to date other men. Lives with the few memories she had with the guy. wait, there is a twist (read the book).
The problem I particularly found in this book is, there are too many similes. At one point I was telling it loud, "okay, I get your point. Now, get back to the story". Even though the author succeeds in connecting me with the character, fails to put me in the situation (for which I gave a star less for the book).

p.s. I read Novoneel Chakraborty's books for the twists and I prefer his books over Chetan Bhagat's at any given point.

Frankly speaking, this book is not worth the hype people create about it. There is philosophy in most of the book and it has made it too long and boring. The language could have been better, it is poorly written at places.
Having said all that, I promise emotional people will really love this book for it expresses pretty real feelings.
It was an ok ok read.

An amazing journey through life and beyond..

Loved reading the thoughts which go through Radhika as she goes on with deep love for Raen which stays beyond life.. I believe, true love is eternal and flows beyond the transitions of life. A soul in true love becomes "aware" and meets his twin-soul in various shades. Loved "A Thing Beyond forever"..

Most of the book feels like reading an amateurish personal diary. It is only towards the end that the narration picks up and entices the mind. The end justifies the title leaving a lasting feeling of believing in HOPE long after you have closed the book.

Mainly, it is the story of a girl, named Radhika Sharma, believe that, what the caption says, "The reward for every true love is not love". The story is damn touching.

I was really impressed with Novoneel's style of writing.

The book raises many emotions, feelings and questions. Yes, the book raises many questions in mind about love, life, connection, attraction. The book revolves around "The eternal love, the eternal soul and the re-birth". The book truly shows the meaning of true love. Love that is beyond limits not even in limits of death. Love is eternal and remains even after the death.

The book is worth reading. It has the correct combination of romance, suspense and drama. The book raises many emotions, feelings and questions. Yes, the book raises many questions in mind about love, life, connection, attraction. The book revolves around "The eternal love, the eternal soul and the re-birth". The book truly shows the meaning of true love. Love that is beyond limits not even in limits of death.

The main characters are Radhika and Raen. They fall in love with each other. The end of their love occurs when Radhika lost Raen. But that's not the end of their love. Radhika keeps their love in her heart. The twist occurs when she finds her love again. That's worth reading how she finds her love again and in which form.

"A thing beyond forever" novel is the first novel of author "Novoneel Chakraborty". It was published in September 2008 by Srishti Publishers. And the book was one of the national bestsellers of 2008.

I always believed romance can never be my cup of tea. From the beginning, when the sun rises with the red, I saw it as an initiation of a new age, when it sets down, I saw the red as blood. Like, after the war, someone is going to sleep with vigorously bleeding limbs, head, heart, and… perhaps The Brain! Red was always revolution to me. It never got equated with the colour of rose, colour of the so called ‘Heart’! Never, ever, ever! And a tale of romance? Oh, Please! Well, one time read, at max.

By the time I’m writing this, my perception about life (& love, yes) already took a turn towards a statics from my ever known dynamics. It took me a long thinking to get how to start writing about the book and I’m still in the same dilemma. Good? Bad? Never mind! But after completing, you too will realize, a mere description is beyond our imagination. It’s different, above all! Just after completing the book, you’ll feel like starting it again.

Whatever, I guess people don’t like a long beginning. The book explores the life of a so called arrogant feminist, Radhika, in an unusually strange manner, that tells the story of her childhood, present, and finally future. Yes, future too! She is left to discover her past and only love is not yet finished and by the time she starts digging deeper, life takes her from the position of Queen only to place her in Bishop and… no, nothing more! Radhika experienced. So will you.

Like everything, the book comes with its negative side. My microscopic stock of words faced wall after wall while going through it, so before you start (if you dare at all), keep a dictionary ready (Read, your smartphone charged). On the contrary, even my poor knowledge on English encountered some minor grammatical mistakes. Not to say, a ‘little’ (ahem) melodramatic…The book contains mild sexual elements too; so in case you are a saint… Ha, ha ha. The page quality and the binding of Srishti Publishers are more than good. Price is reasonably low!

You know what! By the time I’m writing this, I’m suppressing my intense desire to show Radhika this post! The sky is turned black, she is invisible. Wherever she is, my only hope, one day she will accidentally come across her biography, and then…

The story begins…

(P.S. Yes, too much sentimental shit in one shot, I understand!)

A thing beyond forever is the story of Dr. Radhika Sharma. She is all what girls today aim to be, educated and independent. She is arrogant to the outside but a broken heart to the inside due to the unanticipated death of Raen who was her first love.

Being a doctor, Radhika got a call for emergency at the hospital where she had to treat a nine year old boy. The young boy was infatuated by her beauty and kept firing lots of questions at her. Radhika was taken aback due to one sudden question from the young patient and it reminded her of Raen. This lead to Radhika opening Raen's personal diary. She read all the events of his life, love, friendship. By the end of it, she noticed an unexplainable similarity between the young patient and Raen.

A thing beyond forever is an eternal love story that highlights on various aspects of life, love, heartbreak, grief, friendship, death and maybe beyond that too.

Radhika tries to analyse and compare the "may-be" co-incidentail sequence of events that follow but rather finds herself in the middle of an unusual situation. The character of sister Melinda played a crucial role in Radhika finding answers to her questions.

The book will take you through a thrilling experience in the later half. The beginning was a bit slow but the later was worth the entire. The shocking truths, the unexplained connection between the two and the unusual infatuation will not let you keep the book down. I myself finished the book in 10 hours.

The most appreciable quality of the book is the tremendous vocabulary, the non readers will definitely need a dictionary by their side.

The title of the book aptly describes the entire plot of the story, the cover of the book also portrays the plot of Radhika's unusual dreams that stopped at the same juncture everytime they occurred. Minute details like the design at the beginning of every chapter very well matched since it was a doctor's love story.

I rate the book 4.8/5

"Our love shouldn't be the means of destroying what isn't ours. Sometimes experiencing the climax instills in us the strength to let go."
"A thing beyond forever" is a story about Dr. Radhika Sharma who is doctor in a nursing home. Radhika is a person every woman or girl wants to be like, independent, educated, dedicated and well settled. But what no one has considered is her personal life. She might look strong superficially but she is numb and broken inside. First life made her all alone when her parents died in an explosion on her 11th birthday. She was taken to an orphanage and was enrolled in a school by them. She was determined about becoming a doctor when a doctor during a medical check up asked about her aim. She whole heartedly studied for her dream from that very day and was the topper of her class always.

When the new session of class 11th was starting in her school, Radhika chose science stream and also that very day a new student joined her class. He was Raen Verma and Radhika never knew this new student was gonna mean to her her life. But fate had other plans and since the day she lost the love of her life she became really weak inside and had never recovered. But certain circumstances made her life go upside down when she feels the presence of her beloved in an unimaginable way. She felts a real relation between Raen and the patient in Room no. 203, who was a 9 year old boy named Laye Barua. She don't know how react, what to do, where to go.

Will she find a way out of this life which has never given her any happiness? How will she cope up with this? You need to read the book to find out!

It was a beautiful read. Mostly because I was able to feel Radhika's every emotion. Everytime I read I told myself and I told her in my mind "I get you girl and you did right." Characters become so close to you that you can hear them speak, the words written, to you. Hence it is worth a read at least once.
