While not everything about Witchcraft appeals to me, I do love that the author of this book emphasizes that magic is simple and can be practised by anyone who is willing to listen to deeper whispers within themselves. Magic comes from that mysterious, non-linear part of our minds, that unconscious place that is often left untapped. The potential to heal yourself, heal others and gain greater direction and meaning for your life in such simple, earthy ways is what I love the most about this book....more

It was a fascinating read, though at times was a bit too heavy and complex, but in general was well outlined. All the examples the author provided made the book flow well. I don't know whether I've researched well, but there don't appear to be many other books on this topic which is a shame...the ''fast oxidizer'' and ''slow oxidizers'' types where one person favors protein more than carbohydrate and vice versa made quite a lot of sense - making me question the way I eat and what I eat. If you're a slow oxidizer you function better eating mainly carbs to generate as energy, whereas if you're a fast oxidizer you quickly run out of carbs and turn to protein for your main source of energy.
It's a lot more interesting than what I've made it sound...if you can grab a copy give it a read. It shows that after all, mental disorders and mood disorders may have to do with the physical rather than the psychological....more

I had to force myself to finish this book, which, thank god, was only 141 pages.
I liked the fanciful, descriptive writing in places, but sometimes it just got too much with ridiculous words like "discombomulated" scattered in places. Otherwise, this book seemed to be completely anti-content. The sections in the book always finished abruptly, leaving the impression that the author had no more to say. It's a wonder how he managed to make it to 141 pages.
The only content rich comment in the entire book which captivated me was the small statement "true silence is an inner thing" (pp.131) Everything else seemed banal, and choppy.
This book is a good example of "don't judge a book by its cover"...because sometimes the content really sucks....more

I admIt's not often that I come across books that make me question the nature of reality so deeply... this was definitely one of those unique books. I admire, above all, the open-minded stance Hancock takes to the possibility of "other realms". I also was intrigued by the books finely written cross-analysis of spirit, alien and fairy encounters and the idea that our brains tune into different wavelengths of consciousness/reality through the use of shamanic drugs (which are often present in our bodies anyway). I could go on for pages and pages describing the fascinating ideas presented in this book, but that will ruin the read for you! All in all, even though the beginning was a slow, slightly dry start, this book turned out to be a highly absorbing, mind-bending read completely worth a permanent place on my bookshelf....more

I dug up an old 1970's version of this book, was intrigued by the title, and began to read it over the course of a week. At only 91 pages, this would be considered by many to be "probably not worth reading", but the depth of insight in this book was really quite stunning. I bookmarked nearly every page and will definitely be revisiting the insights within this books pages in the future!...more

I loved how practical this book was, while balanced with spiritual truth and insight. So many self-help books out there are written in a very vague, theoretical and unhelpful way. This book was so refreshing because it offered many tools for greater peace and self-realization.

After a few pages of getting into he story, I was caught up in a dizzying whirlpool that barely let me go. This book is most definitely a page turner, and kept me up till 3am in the morning.
It's a story of hope, in my eyes, but can be depressing at times, especially when one can relate to what is written somewhat. The biggest lesson to take away from this book in my opinion is to develop a sense of humour about your problems! Listen to Pedro, Pedro is always right:)
The only negative was the ending... it confused me a bit....more
