Oh my goodness what can I say but I absolutely LOVE this series and now the story has come full circle. I must give a bigTHANK YOUto the author for allowing me an ARCAdvanced Reading Copyof this book being her biggest fan. I feel I know this family inside and out.
I have grown up with the twins who were separated at birth one taken into a life of privilege whilst the other left in Brasil to grow up as a street child.

In book 2 the boys are grown men, but the story centres aroundCarlosthe oldest of the brothers. His story is truly heartwrenching and to try and overcome his nightmares his brother Pedro suggests he write all his experiences down. The opening line drew me in:-
'Ghostly echoes of my past whispered across the ages.'

Rio, Brasil has always been split in half. In book 3 we see the rich kids on the other side of the streets and it's Carnival time.Marcos Martinezis from the half where homelessness and poverty is the norm son ofPedrowho grew up on the streets.
Gio Silvasknows only the lifestyle of the other side. A billionaire’s son.

Book 4 is a tearjerker featuring the stories ofJose and Christinaand some sad farewells.

***Warning*** Book 5 is the Darkest Yet a shorter book but packs a punch not for the faint-hearted.The story of a monster - Paolo Martinez. He has sworn to protect the public, but he manages to terrorise all the street children of Rio.

So to thisFinal Bookof the series. The fun-loving celebration of Carnival is over. As weReturn to the streets of Rio, love, lies, and betrayal rock the Martinez family once again. With so much devastation, surely all that’s left now is destruction, especially when vengeance brings the family full circle.
Can enough happiness still be found to overcome all their heartaches? Or is the Martinez family forever cursed?
This is anA~MAZ~INGbook series originally inspired by true events, well worth starting at the very beginning. This wonderful author will take you on a rollercoaster ride of a read. She can certainly tug at your heartstrings, and she will show you the dark side of the streets of Brasil (this is the native spelling of Brazil and is used throughout the series).
You will also find aFamily Treeof the Martinez family at the back of this book. The whole series is well worth investing a few hours in. But don't take my word for it check out book 1 now.

As Dr Zeuss said'Why fit in when you were born to stand out?'
This is a heart-wrenching story, more so than any other book I have ever read because sadly it isTRUE!This is a memoir unlike any other and it has taken thirteen years for Jo to feel she has the strength and the time to share her story with us. The story of how she and her family have overcome so many obstacles when bringing a critically ill baby into the world.
Dr. Seuss was right when he said 'Why fit in when you were born to stand out?' Zak certainly stands out, he truly is a'Boy Wonder'he is thoughtful and caring and even though he has endured countless operations since being born his smiles will still manage to met melt your heart. A truly inspirational young man.
