This audio book is truly magical, with Liam Scott bringing this unique rhythmical graphic tale to life. The additional piano by Clare is a wonderful touch. You really cannot help but be drawn in. It is a pleasant change from the original.
“The office retained its quiet norm as Cratchit watched the clock. The day it crawled at a sluggish pace, set to a slow tick tock”
You can also hear the very slow ticking in the background. Truly magical.
The narrator’s characters are oldy worldy, with their cockney accents and you can picture them in your head quite easily without actually having seen the illustrations in the book. (Though if you have not seen the illustrations you are missing out.)
I particularly like how this is split into five staves, like the original so you can share it with the family maybe a little each evening leading up to Christmas.
I feel lucky to have a signed copy of the graphic novel and the illustrations by Joe Matthews are bright and colourful. Now this extra audio addition makes this wonderful collection complete. I love how the author has made some subtle changes from the book and it really helps the story to flow.
This is a magical, seasonal treat to share with the whole family. Just gather them together around the Christmas tree with all your favourite treats and enjoy. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I have to thank Dave for gifting a copy of this audiobook to me, in return for an honest review.

This is a wonderful book with a collection of short stories based around a family of miniature teddy bears
"small enough to fit in your pocket, certainly small enough to live in a dolls house"
The story begins with an introduction to the doll’s house. It comes out only once a year as Christmas approaches. Then we are introduced to the 'Fluffy Family' leading into a small selection of magical stories.
The Mysterious Trunk
The first story where we learn something vital
“Of course, like all members of the S.S.I.T (Secret Society of International Toys) the bears in the Christmas House were forbidden from moving, speaking or showing any signs of life when at risk of being spotted by a human: it was toy law.”
With beautiful and bright illustrations delicately handpainted by the author this will make a wonderful gift for younger children and slightly older ones perhaps with a little help from an adult. ...more

This is a wonderful, yet very moving collection of short stories. I have to admit I had more than a couple of tears in my eyes whilst reading them. The stories appear to be a combination of memories and fiction. But beautifully written.

Loved the descriptions of the Oxford area and colleges.
Sadly this was not the page turner I was expecting it to be. After the great opening of Nat taking up her new post in Oxford and the death of the top chef, things seemed to slow right down. It took until after the halfway mark to even find a theme for the great gala. Admittedly it was a fab theme but I so would have loved to know more about the whole event. The magic was not quite there for me. It is worth checking out for yourself though....more

Science of the land and sea, intricately entwined with fantasy.
‘Dragon Thunder’ Book 3 of the Dragon Dreamer is just as much of a page-turner as the first two books in this wonderful science fantasy series. It is sometimes difficult to know where reality ends and fantasy begins.
The descriptions of the New World are stunning, and the images conjured by the words were so clear I could see the worlds within my mind’s eye. After the devastating eruptions of the volcanoes one the home of the Ice Dragons and the other close to the home of Scree and the Octopi, both the lands and seas have changed.
Even though the creatures have moved to new homes the eruptions are having far reaching effects and many could still be in danger. Check this book out to see how everyone copes. These books are able to be read as standalone books but it is much better to have read the previous ones to get the real feel for the story.
The thoughts and actions of Drakor and Scree say it all. ‘Drakor’s wings drooped as he stared at the forest of destruction. “No mulberries or black cherries, and Arak said those are the best. Our harvest was stolen by the storm. Weather isss more dangerous than Mardor.”
Scree ‘Suddenly, the ocean shuddered. Waves tore through the water, tumbling rocks and ancient coral. Scree was grabbed by the sea, twisted and wrenched, battered and bruised. This was a death wave. Where did it come from?’

**Warning– Disturbing content about possession and exorcism, of a minor**
***Special Note:- If you have not read the other books in the series, it is highly recommended you do before you check out this one (although the author does give a brief re-cap at the beginning***
This is another great book from the‘Afterlife Series’that was way beyond my imagination. Plus like the ones that went before, this is a real page-turner. Whereas Book 4 picked up the pace and a young child was lost in the ether, for me this Book 5 took me to a dark, depraved place. I never imagined the author taking us on such a journey.
We encounter many of the original characters, such as Claire the angel along with her telepathic twin brothers Tony & Jim. (But then the author throws a whole new group of people into the melting pot. Namely Marc & Kat a couple in the Netherlands with marital problems. I love Spike the psychic dog who belongs to Tony (He always knows when Tony is coming home even if he is hours away.)
Then we find out about the evil spirit, as the author says:- ‘…on the merry-go-round of Satan’s wrath. Like all the other reincarnation experiences this wouldn’t be a happy ending.’
This book will taunt and tease, then shock you to your very core. Even if you are a sensitive soul this series is well worth checking out....more
