I have read quite a bit of online fiction and this is by far the longest. I thought I would get bored a bit into it but that was not the case at all. It is a very good story.
Luca is an 18-year-old high school student who has been kicked out of three schools in Europe because of his slutty ways. He is now being forced to go to his family estate in America in order to finish high school. This puts him in danger. His mother is a billionaire and there is always the threat of kidnapping. Ryder is the bodyguard in charge of protecting Luca in America. This is not always easy as it doesn't take long before there are threats, attempted kidnappings as well as other bad things aimed at Luca.
Ryder is ten years older than Luca and when Luca starts hitting on him almost immediately he has a hard time staying away from the much younger man.
I can't say much more without giving spoilers. There are a couple of things that bugged me and a few things that perhaps should have bugged me more than they did. Luca is not the most likable character but he grew on me after awhile.

This is a very difficult book to review. It's long and so much happens that trying to summarize it would be impossible. Jensen is a sad, lonely child with no friends. There is something about him that puts people off. He also has special abilities that he is unable to control. As he gets older, this becomes a huge problem in his household. Jared is a teenager who meets Jensen when Jensen becomes his piano tutor. For once in his life, Jensen has a friend. But there is so much more than that. There is a connection between both boys that cannot be explained. It just is.
This book takes place over a period of years with some devastating events occurring in between. I fell in love with Jensen immediately. He is stuck with a unique ability that makes him different. His parents are unable to deal with him and what he can do and they make his life a living hell. I don't remember ever hating a mother as much as I did Jensen's. His dad was not quite as bad but he was the one who made the ultimate decision to do something that destroyed Jensen's world so I did not like him at all either. There are no words to describe what I was feeling when I read some of the horrible things that his mother forced her son to endure. This is an emotional roller coaster. I found myself with tears in my eyes so many times that I lost count.
A lot happens in this book between Jensen and Jared but I won't list it all here. It's just too much. Suffice it to say that they both must overcome a lot in order to someday be together. It takes awhile for it to happen but it does happen.
This is an excellently written book and immediately jumped on my all-time favorites list. ...more

This is a nice friends-to-lovers story with a HFN ending. Even with a (very quick) epilogue thrown in at the end, I felt that there was so much left unfinished. I read on the author's site that there will be a sequel... eventually... but that a lot of folks won't be happy with where the story goes so I will say that I will end it with this one. Considering the amount of time it took to finish this story, I'm thinking that sequel won't be out anytime soon anyway so maybe I'll change my mind. I enjoyed this throughout with the exception of the unfinished things... important things. I would have liked to have seen what happened after the two guys went home. Otherwise, a good read....more

I have,I only made it to 44% so I won't be rating this one. I understand it's online fiction so I did not expect an edited version of a great novel. I have, however, read some pretty outstanding fan fiction so I went into it with an open mind.
I had several issues with this story. There's Dani/Danny, a cross dressing gay teen. Then there's Kevin, the straight jock football player. Kevin sees Dani out in drag one night and then blackmails him/her to keep it secret.
I really tried to get into this but I couldn't. Dani/Danny played the fluttering-eyelash-girl a bit too much. Kevin was just a jerk. A selfish jerk.
The use of he/she and him/her got confusing. When Dani was Dani I understood the she/her thing... had it been consistent. In one sentence Dani was a she and in the next Dani was a he.
Kevin's family... his father and Uncle Keith... weren't believable, especially the uncle. Neither was Dani/Danny's mother. Being accepting is one thing but come on.
Younodyour head yes. Youshake your headno. That one is just a pet peeve of mine.
I wish I could finish this but I can't. The editing was so bad that I couldn't make sense of some of the sentences. There are times when I have to chalk a book up to "not happening" and move on. I'm moving on.

Shawn is deaf. He also has the ability to hear other people's thoughts. His father left him and his mother when he was a baby and Shawn has not seen nor heard from him in years. Suddenly his dad wants him to make a trip across the country to visit him and his pregnant wife over Christmas. He grudgingly makes the trip and while there meets Jason, who can also hear the thoughts of others. There is an instant connection and attraction.
I'm not going into a long, drawn-out review of what this is about. I will say that there is quite a bit of angst as Shawn is getting to know his father again... not only in regards to the father/son relationship but other things as well. Parts of this story will break your heart.
The story was good. The pacing was good. I liked all of the characters(view spoiler)[though I kind of had an issue with Shawn's dad and the quick forgiveness in regards to why he abandoned Shawn and his mother when Shawn was a baby(hide spoiler)].The only thing I had a slight issue with was the ending. While it ended well, it seemed rushed and unfinished. Otherwise this was a very nice story....more

He's dated a few girls but none have beenthe one.He buries himself in work in order to take his mind off of his lonely life. Then he meets Eli. Eli is 17 and has a miserable life. His dad is AWOL. His mother abandons him for her job, not caring much (in my opinion) if the kid lived or died. He's angry all the time and he lashes out both physically and emotionally. This is his way of hiding his pain. Sebastian wants to save him, to protect him. Eli fights him every step of the way. He's a scared kid who is convinced that he will end up being abandoned again if he allows himself to care too much. Once Sebastian begins seeing Eli as more than a kid he wants to protect and he actually starts having feelings for him, the story finally starts moving along. Granted, it is not an easy road as Sebastian has never even considered having any type of attraction to a male. He has dated women and enjoyed them sexually. But there is something about Eli.
I really enjoyed this a lot. There are a few secondary characters that I couldn't decide if I liked or not but they weren't in the story for too long so it was okay to be neutral as far as they were concerned. I normally do not have an issue with age in the books I read but I did find it to be a little strange reading about a 17 year old boy having pretty graphic sex(view spoiler)[with no condom ever and in one case... in the shower... no lube. The condom thing was bad enough but there is no convincing me that Eli enjoyed the shower sex without any lube involved other than a little bit of shampoo(hide spoiler)].The story progressed perfectly. Sebastian battles with himself a bit before he finally gives in to his feelings, though the relationship does happen quite fast. Eli has severe anger issues(view spoiler)[that went a bit too far at times(hide spoiler)]but he is able to calm down when Sebastian is around. There is some violence, well-meaning (yet annoying at times) friends, homophobic idiots and a cute kid named Matty (you can't read about Matty and not adore him...seriously). Eli's mother, while part of the story and why Eli is the way he is, is not in the story much but she has a huge impact(view spoiler)[I did NOT agree with how the mother thing was handled. She took off and left Eli without caring if he had food, water, electricity, anything.. he had to pawn everything in the house just to be able to eat at times....... she sent him no money hardly and did not even bother to check in on him much while she was away working. Then she comes home and they... Eli and his mom... make up too quickly. All that anger and that is over in just a few paragraphs? That didn't take away from my love of the story though.(hide spoiler)].
Overall, an excellent read. I definitely enjoyed watching Sebastian finally findthe one, even if it wasn't what he was expecting. And I loved watching Eli learn to love and learn to trust (even if he was only 17)....more

James works at an art gallery. Turkish is a difficult photographer that James has to deal with a lot. James feels inadequate in his life and in regards to himself (no self-esteem) and his way of dealing with that is by coming across as rude to just about everyone. Turkish is laid back but a true pain when it comes to his photography. He is used to everyone jumping when he says jump and doesn't understand why James is the way he is.
This is an enemies-to-lovers story (which I love) though the enemy part is only one-sided... James. Turkish is interested in James but he has a hard time showing that because he is so passionate about his photos.
A unique relationship is born between the two. There are interesting secondary characters that added to the story. I enjoyed watching James come into his own with not just Turkish, but his life in general.
I have read (in another review) that there will be more to James and Turkish's story. I am very happy with the HEA on this one so I will probably not read anything beyond this one about James and Turkish.
This was a great story. I am so glad I took the time to read it....more

Luke is the son of a serial killer. Milo is the son of the serial killer's last victim. Luke wants to somehow make amends to the victim's families by apologizing to each. When he gets to Milo, it does not go well. In the beginning anyway. After a little bit of violence, a health scare by one, social services and lots of therapy a relationship is born.
All of theout therestuff I was able to get beyond. I think the only real issue that I had were the ages of Luke and Milo. Luke is 15 and Milo is 16. The problems they have are grown up problems and I think I would have liked it better if each would have been a couple of years older.

They rank up there as my two all-time favorite m/m books. The others I've read? Fallen flat. Every one of them. I started this one knowing there would be the groupies, etc. that I normally run from. It took a couple of chapters to get beyond that and for me to start liking the story. But Ididstart liking it. I love friends-to-lovers stories which is why I decided to give this a shot to begin with.
Dagen and Ben are best friends and have been since they were children. Dagen is outgoing and justout there.Ben is more reserved. Both are straight. Ben had even been married before though he's only 19 in the story. They start a band that makes it big fairly quickly. Each secretly loves the other one but neither is willing share that, though Dagen does tell Ben in other ways... he just doesn't see it. I enjoyed how the story progressed once it got beyond the first chapter or two while they were touring. The relationship progresses at the perfect speed in my opinion and I was thoroughly enjoying it. So what happened? The drama toward the end. Until that point I totally loved both main characters. Dagen tries so hard to prove that what he feels is real and that he won't hurt Ben. Ben is terrified of allowing himself to love Dagen only to become one of many in his bed. Ben's ex wife plays a big part in the story and I can say that I did not like her from her introduction. I liked her even less at the end.
(view spoiler)[I understand where the author was going with the (past) cheating aspect of the story. But I feel that I had invested so much time loving Dagen and rooting for him only to have that one chapter kill the entire story for me. I could have accepted the ex wife cheating with SOMEONE... just not Ben's best friend...... and the boy he secretly loved. The justification and forgiveness at the end.. not just for Dagen but for the ex wife as well... didn't fly for me. It was not realistic. Also, it's obvious that the truth would have never come out had Ben not overheard the conversation between Dagen and Lillian.. the ex. Not only did Ben forgive Lillian and Dagen but they both knew that she had tricked Ben into marrying her by claiming that Dagen's baby was his. Dagen...... his best friend...... allowed him to go through with the wedding knowing the baby she was carrying was his, not Ben's. He claimed to have loved Ben for YEARS but yet he betrayed him in the worst possible way. The fact that he was 17 at the time didn't matter to me.(hide spoiler)]
This was really good and was heading toward a 4 to 5 star read until the author went in a direction that I was not happy with. The story was written very well and everything comes together nicely at the end. I, however, have an issue with certain things when it comes to the books I read and once one of those issues is introduced, it's usually game over for me even if this particular incident occurred years prior. I still enjoyed it and that particular incident will not prevent me from reading more by this author....more

Brody was okay but oblivious when it came to one of the girls and that got annoying. When something is so obvious and all the signs are there, it is kind of frustrating when one of the characters is made to look so clueless. Ernie was funny. Mia, I did not like at all. Michael either, but I think that was expected.

There were a couple of things that had me shaking my head(view spoiler)[A toddler being that still for long periods of time? The banter back and forth between Ben, Joey and James... a 15 year old kid... in regards to the sex sounds that Joe and Ben make at night. And then there's the creepiness of Joey and Ben talking about how "hot" James' new boyfriend is and one comment is even made in regards to how "hot" it would be to see James and Jared hook up... sure, it was said jokingly but the entire story is based on Joey's family saying that homosexuality is an abomination and that James living with Joey and Ben would make James turn "that way". Some even made comments in regards to gay men being all about wanting to hook up with young boys... this was mainly aimed at Ben who supposedly corrupted poor Joey. The point of the story was to prove all of that otherwise so I found it kind of creepy when those comments were made even if they weren't said in seriousness.(hide spoiler)]but overall it was very good.
The dialogue got to be a bit much at times. It drives me nuts when characters refer to the person they are talking to by name in every single sentence. Every time Joey said something (it seemed like) it was "Ben this..." or "Ben that..." It was the same when Ben was speaking to Joey. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it was quite necessary because pretty much the entire 500-something pages are dialogue so it helped to keep from getting confused but it can definitely be too much.
The story was actually quite good. It takes awhile to get to the resolution but the resolution is satisfactory. I was getting toward the end almost scared of how one character's attitude would be dealt with.(view spoiler)[I had this fear that after all the stuff with Vinnie that the author would make him suddenly change and become accepting and then tie that particular part of the story in a nice, neat bow. That would have angered me.(hide spoiler)]Not everything is tied up neatly but the story plays out well. The cast of characters are interesting to say the least. Throughout most of it I was thinking how thankful I am that I don't have a family like Joey's...:) And I thought MY mother-in-law was bad. Not!One character in particular, while an important part of the story, could never redeem himself in my eyes. He is written as a complete tool in the very beginning and then suddenly he becomes a friend of sorts. I had a difficult time seeing him for anything other than the way he was described early on even if he did do something nice later.
