If you believed the media, you would think this book was a vitriolic tirade against trans people or something similar. It is nothing of the sort but rather argues calmly, rationally and sympathetically, that biological sex should be recognised as something separate from "gender identity". There is no vitriol or hatred here.
Trans people are trans people. We should get over it. They deserve to be safe, to be visible throughout society without shame or stigma, and to have exactly the life opportunities non-trans people do.
