But Cat’s Lair was more than just disappointing…..it was beyond totally boring!!!!!
I was hoping that Cat Benoit’s story would be a good one!!! But what happened??? Starting with Cat hiding from her evil and violent Rafe Cordeau, to whom her mother had sold to when she was eleven years old, it continues with her working in a bookshop/café and meeting the mysterious Riley Cromer, who actually is Eli someone, a leopard shifter.
Then they have sex. She then discovers the truth about Eli. Then they have sex again. He rescues her. Then they have sex again. She makes great coffee for him in his hideaway home. Then they have sex again…..and so it goes on and on and on!!!!!
Its coffee, sex, open for me, I love your taste, you are mine, say you are mine, let go for me and so on and on and on….. Okay, let me skim over some pages…..and some more pages…maybe there will be something interesting happening next!!!!
Well, apart from the part where we get to meet up with Jake Bannaconni and his wife, Emma and their kids from Burning Wild (Leopard People #3), and the other leopard shifters, nothing else happened that was of interest to me.
I was hoping that we would get some background info on Rafe Cordeau and who he was and why he did the things he did….but no……..absolutely nothing….he was just a bad guy and a rogue and gone mad shifter!!!! The end!!!!
I was so looking forward to this book but it just did not do it for me.
I am hoping that the next installment will get me back into this series!!!! ...more

I justI so wanted to like this book. The 4th book in Christine Feehan's Sisters of the Heart Series and tells the story of Lexi and Graviil Prakenskii.
I just could not engage with the two main characters. Their whole interaction just seemed a bit off for me.
The plot was okay but the story just moved so slow and with so much repetition...the same thing over and over again.
What made me finish the book was that I wanted to finally get to see the Prakenskii brothers finally being together again. And the scenes with Benito were a joy to read...he's a really unforgettable character.
I'm not sure about this series that has not grabbed me as much as the author's Dark Series and even the Drake Sisters stories. ...more

Okay, so I am notShadow's Claim is the 13th book in Kresley Cole's ever fabulous Immortals After Dark Series and the 1st in her The Dacians Series...
Okay, so I am not sure why this book is part of the IAD Series......the only connection to that world is that the main character here, is one of Lothaire's many cousins, the assassin Trehan Daciano who made a very quick appearance at the end of Lothaire's book
Trehan is also the prince of the secret Vampire Realm Dacia, situated in the hell-plane of Abbaddon. He's been assigned to assassinate the realm's Princess Bettina's best friend who she just also happens to be in love with........blah blah blah!!!
Of course, when Trehan and Bettina lay eyes on each other. INSTANT LUST...ooh and then he discovers that she's actually his Bride...but she says no no no......PLEAZZZZZZZ!
I did like Trehan but Bettina not so much! In fact she was a pain in the butt for most of the story!!
I also had to stop a few times....to think where does this story fit into the actual IAD Series!!

There was something missing between the two mc's....I never felt a chemistry or connection there.

However, I do love KC so I am not giving up on the Immortals now!! ...more

This is her and Detective Ric Santos', who we met in the 2nd book, Unspeakable, story.
I had high expectations but unfortunately they were not quite met. There were a few issues that left me feeling very disappointed.
Mia becomes a totally different character to what she has been previously portrayed. She's like this insecure person who does the most stupid things possible - the most stupid??? How she lets herself be manipulated by everyone around her...never mind manipulation...but hey, to allow Ric to treat her the way he does.....and how she deals with being blackmailed by the bad guy who supposedly has kidnapped her nephew..........Ric........I just couldn't get this guy!!! He blows hot and cold towards Mia. One minute he ignores her than he wants her. He feels nothing...then he worries about her safety..........come on................he acts beyond an idiot...Most of the time - my feelings were that Ric was not really into her...in fact I would have liked her to have been coupled with someone more interesting...........actually, I wanted to tell her on numerous occasions............Chemistry!! What chemistry???????
Then there's the plot..............talk about absurd!!! The reason for Mia being in danger.........really!!!! Didn't feel real.....and the bad guys!!!! No, totally not exciting at all.
I was so sorry that I couldn't engage with Mia in this book............to be honest, I liked some of the secondary characters more..........especially Mia's work colleague at the Delphi Centre, Sophie. Now that character's story I am so looking forward to.
So, let me end this by saying...........it's not a horrible book........just an okay one....more

Eyes to the Soul is Book #7 in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series and we finally get Stefan Kronos (my favorite character in this series) story. We finally get to find out more about his past and who he has been in love with for a long time.
I have mixed feelings about this book - that's not saying that I didn't like the story - I did - it's just that there were a couple of things that bugged me a bit.
The storyline was fresh and unique and kept me at the edge of my seat a few times.
I liked the bit we get of Stefan's back-story but just thought it was not enough. The same with Celina's back-story. There are a lot of questions about their pasts
I admired Celina for the way she lived and how she looked at life - but at times she did drive me a bit batty with some of the things she did.
Previous characters that I have come to like are woven into this story and I loved how the characters interact with each other.
The twists and the identity of the bad guy were pretty well done...I never had an inkling on who it was....surprised surprised!!!
I liked the cover.
I certainly can recommend this series to anyone who loves suspense, romance, paranormal and some great and memorable characters....more

Tabitha's psychic gift is her ability to communicate with animals. She runs Exotic Landscape, where she tends to animals in need.
She was introduced in Knock Knock, the previous book in this series and this is her story. Something bad happens when she helped someone and Detective Ronin Chandler helps her uncover the danger she's facing.
The psychic phenomena does become a bit confusing at times but it doesn't detract anything major from the storyline. I do enjoy characters from the previous books interacting in the story....
Oh - my favourite character in this book?? Without a doubt -the green-eyed Tiger
And the cover - stunningly gorgeous!!
I didn't love this one as much as I did book #1, Tuesday's Child but it was still a good addition to a series that I am becoming something like addicted to the stories and characters....more

I like how the romance, suspense and psychic/paranormal genres merge in the stories. Knock, Knock is the 5th book in the series.
I liked the storyline and there was enough suspense (though a bit slow at times) to keep my interested and though I liked the hero I did find the heroine a bit irritating at times. I also felt a lack of chemistry between the heroine, wealthy and beautiful Shay Lassiter, who uses her money to run the non-profit Lassiter Foundation and ex-cop and computer genius Roman Chandler.
I enjoyed meeting up with Maddy, from Maddy's Floor, the 3rd book and Stefan, introduced in Tuesday's Child, the 1st book in the Series. Now, he's an interesting character and I can't wait for his book.

I have read most of the books in this series and I enjoyed the first couple of them. But it seems that this series is running out of steam for me...............in fact, I surprised myself that I actually finished reading until the end...because I suffered a headache every time I picked the book up!!!
The storyline is about four residents of Clarity, N.C., who suffer fatal “accidents”, totally unrelated, in a month. Unit chief Noah Bishop sends a team of four of his agents, Hollis Templeton and her partner, Reese DeMarco and two other agents - each have different psychic powers which they will use to solve the crimes.
Instead of working to finding the serial killer, we are given pages and pages and conversations and conversations about how their powers work, and how much they suffer from their powers, etc etc blah blah blah................
I wanted so much to give up on this book...but hey I persevered...after all I wanted to know who the bad and evil killer was!!! Let me just say, I had no idea whatsoever about the identity until the very end.......now, that should have been a huge surprise..yes it was in some way...but really!!!! Where did the killer come from???
Devil worship, paranormal, pentagrams, red herrings......heck.....enough!!!
I think I might just give this series a miss in the future! Though I may read one or two of the ones I've missed previously!
I suppose if you are a fan of this series, you will probably want to read this one...but honestly....I cannot recommend it!! And yes, it's just me!!! You go ahead and make up your mind!!!!...more

The big Vlad and Leila love story finale!!! But where was the love, the romance???? It was a series of fights, and more fights...killings and more killings of bad guys!!! And Leila and Vlad dashing off from one place to another trying to find more bad guys to kill!!!
I liked Ian, the badass vampire we were first introduced in the Night Huntress Series but in this book he comes across as a really irritating and idiotic.....his lines were most of the time, really tasteless!!!
"Ah, Leotie, my beauteous poppet, I take back everything I said about you being an uppity crone. Take me to your bed, I promise endless delights. I'll even limit myself to tongues only. Always happy to accommodate a preference."
At first, I actually laughed at some of the things he comes out with but after a while, his lines become boring and monotonous - all this slapstick stuff!!!
"Grand," Ian said in a tone that implied he felt the opposite. "Does anyone else feel the sudden need for a shag?"
And....it just continues..................
"My jaw dropped." You'd seriously bang a dragon? "
"Oh, for days," he responded at once. "Can you imagine the Internet videos? I'd be a bloody legend.”
This series started off well for me but as it progressed, I kind of felt a bit let down. I missed the romance and love that comes across in the Night Huntress Series - Cat & Bones....who never make an appearance in this book and which I really missed!!!! The ending was meh!!!! Vlad and Leila go off into the sunset to have their HEA!!! Seriously!!! And it looks as if the next book is going to be Ian's......hopefully he's going to be a bit more deeper than we see in this story!!!
If you've read the previous 3 books and love Vlad and Leila, then you will have to read this book!..................like I did..............Despite my feelings.........

When some patients died under mysterious circumstances, Detective Drew McNeil, offers to help her with the investigation. And just in case you think there's some hot romance between these two...........so not!!! I felt no connection or chemistry with these two!!

It's not that I hated the story but there were a couple of things that "irritated" me! Let me begin with the highest irritation:
I am not a prude whatsoever...I am know to use the f./....@@@ word at times......but hell, did the two mc's go out all the way with all the f@##$%$% and ass@@@@@ and douche bags........okay, so if it's once or twice or even three times...but no, the two continue the verbal sparring using those words over and over and over again.......

Yes, Kali Jordan, well renowned search-and-rescue worker with psychic powers.....
no, actually, she's a pretty committed worker with her adorable dog, Shiloh. Just that a couple of times I wanted to put a bar of soap in her and the hero, FBI agent, Grant Summers's mouths!!!
The story revolves around Kali being threatened by a serial killer, who sends her the most scary and frightening letters.
I wish there was more of a chemistry between the Kali and Grant.
I learnt a lot about rescue work........there were a lot and I mean a lot of pages about the ins and outs.
Will I continue reading this series? Yes, I think I'm going to.

This story revolves around Samantha Blair, a psychic woman who sees and feels people being murdered. She's wary about telling the police about these visions as she's been "burnt" when she previously had offered assistance.
When Detective Brandt Sutherland asks Sam for help with one of his cases, she agrees to work with him in finding the serial killer before he kills again and also before he kills her.
I liked the main characters and there are some great secondary characters introduced in this story, which I am so eager to discover more about....like the super psychic Stefan. I am so interested in finding out more about him and his powers.
This is another paranormal mystery, filled with suspense and intrigue and twists and twirls and turns...........okay, I might have guessed who the killer was half-way...but still surprised at the end!!
I liked the pacing of the story in though the ending felt a bit rushed.

This was the first book I've read by this author and I probably should have read the previous ones as at times I felt a bit "lost" in this story. There were characters that made an appearance that I didn't know where they fitted in
However, this is a minor "moan" and it didn't stop me from enjoying the story. I found the main characters, Tavika Bantrell, homicide detective with psychic powers which she's trying to keep hidden from everyone, is suddenly thrown back in time...when her family had been murdered and their killer never found and Jericho Sands, a psychic hunter, who contacts her about the serial killer, known as the GHOST, very interesting.
Despite him offering her his help, Tavi is determined not to have anything to do with Jericho. I enjoyed the premise of this series....psychic abilities to help in finding killers and bringing them to justice.
Suspense, twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end.
After finishing this book, I am definitely going to read the entire series next.

one of my favorite vampire characters from Chloe Neill's fabulous Chicagoland Vampires Series, are back in a short novella and book #12,5 in the series.
Despite being a quick read, we do get to see the romantic side of their romance...their upcoming wedding plans......such fun to see her family trying to take over!!!!!
We meet up with most of the series characters - which was a total bonus for me. The plot revolves around a ghost and the two embark on solving the mystery with the help Annabelle, the necromancer and the CPAN (Chicago Paranormal Action Network), which is run by Merit's grandfather.
I am not that crazy about the short stories that the author's throw in between full length books......why they do this I have no clue!!! But I did enjoy this one.

Allright, we are now at book #13 in Christine Feehan's GhostWalkers Series with her latest, Power Game. You probably wondering about my confused "look"........let me explain!!!
This series started off with soldiers that were enhanced with super powers, then progressed to enhancements mixing human DNA with animal DNA....and young girls who were used as experiments by the madman scientist, Peter Whitney....we now have human DNA mixed with spiders/snakes....and now, the heroine, Bellisia with octopus DNA!!! Hell, what next!!!
So, Bellisia aka Bella and Ezekiel aka Zeke's story is a bit better than the last few books I have read by CF.
What made it work for me:
Bella.....I like her....she was such an engaging and lovable character....wanting to find love in her life!! Her interactions between the GhostWalkers was really endearing......the family vibe was great - and the scenes, especially the cooking lessons with Nonny were funny and cute.
I also liked Ezekiel.........he wasn't a sexist and controlling ass@$#le...He was caring and giving towards Bella which was something better than some of the male characters in this series.
Secondary characters.......wow, the triplets.......totally captivating!!! I adored these three little girls....
Whilst I liked this book more than the previous two or three, it still didn't "rock" my world. I find that there is a lot of repetition....I want to taste you...I want you....Open up for me!!!!!
I feel something is missing in this series...can't put my finger on what exactly.........it needs an injection of something or other....but whatever it is.......unless it happens...I am not sure if I will continue reading this series....more

Spider Game is the 12th book in her GhostWalkers Series - so what did I think of Cayenne and Trap's story??
Firstly, the main character's names......really!!! Cayenne & Trap!!!
But that's not the only reason why I found this story to be yet another....
I found Cayenne to be a pretty cool heroine....she was kickass - (that's the reason for 1,5 stars instead of 1) well in the beginning.......but then, what the hell happened to her!!!! Letting the hero, old Trap walk all over her!!!
Now, let's continue with Trap!!! What a d@##$khead!!! The way he treated Cayenne was beyond despicable.....here I was hoping that he would become a bit better...but no........he continues to be the ass@@@@@le........why she stuck around with him was beyond comprehension.
I am also becoming a bit bored with all the repetitive sex scenes....which crop up at the most unexpected times....
Anyway, I will probably read the next book in the series..........with the hope that just maybe....the next will be an awesome one!!!...more
