Her second book in this series, Her Wicked Marquess is up next.
Our hero, the reclusive Alexander Masters, Duke of Thornton, was scarred from a fire ten years before. He suffers from excruciating pain due to his scarring and the broken bones he suffered from jumping from a three story window to save his sister. Alexander is crippled and has a hard time walking, but pushes himself beyond his physical capabilities enabling him to walk without a cane or use a wheelchair at times. He also has one other health impediment, but that you’ll have to find out when you read the book!;)
Our heroine, Miss Katherine (Kitty) Danvers, is intelligent, daring and very loyal to her family and friends. Kitty, along with five other wallflowers formed a private and very secret club - the Sinful Wallflowers. They’ve all agreed “to be wicked, improper, and terribly scandalous.”
(Kitty’s family had lost their home to a relative after her father died. They’re in desperate need of money.)
Our Sinful Wallflower, Kitty, has a scandalous idea; to announce her betrothal to the Duke of Thornton that no one ever sees. If the ton thinks Kitty is linked to a Duke, her little sister will get multiple invites to the tons parties during her first season. Her sister marrying is Kitty’s goal.
The Duke really does show up at a ball, putting a major kink in Kitty’s plan. Alexander had read in the papers he’s engaged, and he’s VERY intrigued with this “Katherine Danvers.” Wanting to know who this woman is he’s supposedly marrying, he travels from Scotland to London to see for himself.
They have one sweet kiss. It’s then that Alexander strikes a bargain with Kitty. She’s to go to his estate in Scotland with him for one or two weeks, and he won’t reveal her secret.
This is when Alexander and Kitty’s *swoon* happily ever after begins...
Stacy Reid puts a unique spin on her story that proved to be SO delightful. This story is absolutely fantastic. I loved it....more

This book follows Valinda and Drake, and takes place in New Orleans during reconstruction. Valinda was born a free woman of color and is from New York state. She comes to New Orleans to teach newly freed people how to read. It’s dangerous, racism is everywhere. Even amongst black people there is a big class and colorism system. It’s not even safe to walk down the street. I worried for her, kept thinking she should go home where it’s safer, but Valinda’s purpose is so much bigger than her environment, bigger than everything that’s going on around her. There’s so much more than romance going on in this book. Towards the end when she was teaching in the box cars I was literally crying. This is such a beautiful, heartfelt story, you just have to read the book to understand. I can’t recommend it enough. This is book 1 in a new series “Women Who Dare.” Wild Rain is book 2 released this month-Feb 2021. I’m jumping on the Beverly Jenkins bandwagon and just ordered Wild Rain, the Destiny trilogy, and Captured that pre-dates this book—it’s about Drakes grandparents and sounds really interesting as it’s a pirate romance.
4.5 stars. I’ve now read all three books in this trilogy and this is, hands down, my favorite. Hattie and Whit’s romance was so much fun to read. Hatt4.5 stars. I’ve now read all three books in this trilogy and this is, hands down, my favorite. Hattie and Whit’s romance was so much fun to read. Hattie is clever and very independent, and my oh my is Whit (Beast) ever an alpha. He’s gorgeous and primal, grunts mostly, but when he does talk, it’s swoon worthy. These two make a perfect combination together. I really enjoyed this story.
I’ve read the last two books in this series, now I circled back to the first that I missed.

I love the unique premise to this series. A men’s only book club, reading romance (you heard that right, ROMANCE), to improve their relationship’s with the loves in their life. That’s genius.
This story features Gavin, a major league 2nd basemen with the Nashville Legend’s, and his soon-to-be ex-wife Thea. Thea revealed an awkward secret to Gavin about their sex life. Gavin overreacts badly, not only is it embarrassing for him, she’s also been lying to him about it their entire marriage. She asks for a divorce, then throws him out.
Gavin’s now staying in a hotel and is on a drinking binge. His teammate/friend shows up with a few other guys he’s never met—all members of a secret book club. Have no fear, the book club has banded together to help Gavin with his marriage troubles. They, with the help of their current steamy romance book pick, Courting the Countess, are exactly what Gavin needs to woo his wife back!
I loved it - there’s so much truth in here! The 4th book in the series “Isn’t It Bromantic” releases July 20, 2021....more

Kellen Adams is released from rehab following surgery, but still struggles with the function of her right hand. Just as things are getting back to normal at home, Mari Philippi, a vicious killer they put in prison, has escaped and is looking for vengeance against their family. Max flys Kellen and their daughter Rae to his family’s secluded island off the coast of California. Kellen isn’t convinced they’ll be safe there. (Their very strange island help were creepy as all get out!) Dangerous cat and mouse games, and keeping their daughter safe at all costs, Max and Kellen fight back with their very lives at stake. I loved the terrifying twists. So good!
I highly recommend reading this series in order....more
What if America had never elected Presidents. Instead George Washington’s future sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, and sA fun, entertaining novel! ☺️
What if America had never elected Presidents. Instead George Washington’s future sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, and so on, ran our country serving the American people as a monarchy of Kings. It was fun to immerse myself in the “what if’s" of if America had been a monarchy instead of a democracy. Loved that premise, and this book was a great escape with all going on right now in our world.
The House of Washington has its “very first Queen” in line to serve next, Princess Beatrice. BUT it’s not all cut and dry with this royal as she’s fallen in love with her bodyguard. Her sister Princess Samantha (Sam) falls for Princess Beatrice’s fiancée Teddy, and Sam’s best friend Nina starts dating her twin brother, Prince Jeffrey. Then there’s mean girl Daphne who will do anything to hold onto Jeff if only to wear the crown. This all may sound confusing but I promise you it’s not. This novel’s ending was a little abrupt but is to be continued with the next book, “Majesty” out 9/1/20. Is a great read if you’re looking for something that’s easy and fun to take your mind off current news, or to help with anxiety....more

Margaret Renkl takes you on a journey using short snippets of her life growing up in rural Alabama, from her youth to becoming a caregiver as an adultMargaret Renkl takes you on a journey using short snippets of her life growing up in rural Alabama, from her youth to becoming a caregiver as an adult. Her vignettes are beautiful and bittersweet as she examines her life, the loss and grief, and the comfort she finds in the natural world. Beautifully profound, this book couldn’t of ended up in my hands at a better time. It resonated strongly with a recent loss in my own life, that I’m now seeing through a new set of eyes. As I’ve found for myself, I think there’s a bit of something for everyone in this book. ...more
