really liked it

A conversation I've been having with myself for the past few days.

What did I think of Eowyn Iveys' The Snow Child? It's kind of hard to wrap my head around. I can't seem to figure out what I want to say about this one. It was a wonderful slow-moving story that encompasses multiple years but at the same time feels like the blink of an eye. On the other hand it was a bit childish and predictable.

Was there a deeper meaning to it all? I have no idea what Miss Ivey was trying to convey, if anything at all past a great story. Some of the topics that come up a lot in this book, are love, family, Snow, friendship, loneliness, grief, cold, depression, hope, pies, and survival.

Will I read anything else by Eowyn Ivey? I think I'll definitely give her another try. Her writing style was on point; Her scenery was breathtaking; Her characters, although shallowish were relatable and likable; Her story was kinda silly but kinda deep and very entertaining.

Thanks for the understanding lol. Sometimes its just hard to put your thoughts and feelings for a book into writing.

Heidi Years later, I remember feeling slightly off kilter myself after reading this too. Lovely review and I still agree it deserves 4 stars!🤩

Laysee I am glad you found traits you liked in Ivey's writing, Jesse. I have not read this but I read 'To the Bright Edge of the World' and loved it. You may like it too.
