“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

J.R.R. Tolkien
“Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.”

Destiny Thank you so much for the card!

message 39: by Summer

Summer Hi Lianne! Nice to meet you. Thanks so much for the thoughtful recommendations. All the diverse books you mentioned seemed right up my alley. I think I've heard of My Brilliant Friend several times back in 2015. I'll be sure to check that one out the next time I'm in bookstores. Of Sorrow and Such seems like something I'd really love as well. As for Anthony Marra, I'm definitely adding A Constellation of Vital Phenomena (it's his most popular work it seems) and The Tsar of Love and Techno.:) Thanks, again, for the great reads!

message 38: by Destiny

Destiny Haha true. Everything else is inferior! XD

message 37: by Destiny

Destiny You turned me on to Moleskines. Now nothing else is the same when I want to write my notes!

message 36: by M

M Hi! It was a fail on my part too. I should have realized you had a GR account! Thanks for adding me:)

message 35: by Rinn

Rinn Hi Lianne! Thanks for adding me, and taking the time to answer my challenge question in such detail! =) So many people don't bother at all...

message 34: by Merc

Merc Yeah, I think I may be just as new to Classic Who as you. They aired a couple episodes on BBC and I watched one of them through the end. I tried to watch another but I am not sure if I finished. I have all the opportunity in the world to watch Classic Who since it seems to be syndicated on channel 4 or something. I just need to watch it. Heh.

I may give that DW book a try since the one I got was less then great.

I think I only watched the anime in parts because I'm reading the manga and definitely do not remember certain things happening (I think the anime diluted the manga a bit =/). I'm also glad that they're releasing the manga fairly quickly, don't have to wait as long =D

Kristine I was looking for a particular family saga series which I couldn't remember and so I did a search. I happened upon this link. I thought maybe you might be interested. Quite a long list of various historical fiction series!http://www.1mpages.com/HistoricalFict...

Kristine Ok NOW I see new buttons lol

Kristine Hi Li! I read your tweet about winning another First Reads. Which one did you win this time?:)

message 16: by Kat

Kat Hi Li,
I'll let you know how Frankenstein turns out. If I can be completely honest though, I am really struggling to get through it so far. I love the idea of it, I even love the monster himself... but somehow the story is really dragging for me. How are you liking The Brothers Karamazov so far?

Literary Chanteuse Thanks for accepting!

Fabrizio Paterlini thank you!:)

Kristine lol you've already surpassed the 5-6 books estimate I said to you on Google Wave!

message 12: by Liz

Liz I need to watch Amelie again at some point, I enjoyed it the first time around!

message 11: by Liz

Liz Thanks for accepting my friend request:)

Kristine This is so weird! I don't know why, but instead of your P&P profile icon, half the time I am seeing a friend's facebook profile picture as your profile icon here!

Kristine I'm so jealous that you're breezing through all your books! lol

Kristine Man you sped through 700+ pages in like two days! Or seems like it at least.

Kristine My goodness you're reading really fast!

message 6: by Kerry

Kerry I just need to start reading them lol

message 5: by Kerry

Kerry I updated it a bit!:D

Kristine How do you read so many books when you're so busy??
