Looking forward to reading this!
I read it and it broke my heart. It is very well written and held my attention throughout.
The Underground Railroad is an education into a world unseen and inexperienced by many today. However, American slavery had consequences that deeply affected consciences for nearly eternity. This book somehow leads us to experience things we otherwise would not have been able to see and feel, which on its own helps to keep the stories of those slaves remembered and still wounding us today. It is an eye-opener to the evil Man can do in the name of beliefs of all sorts. Religion included.
Now read: "l Lawd Today" by Richard Wright! Years ago I read his "Native Son" and was captivated, from page one. I'd highly recommend it.
