I am a civil engineer and work with utilities and water distribution on a daily basis. A lot of the issues that the author discussed are not as black and white as he made them appear (I’m specifically talking about water use here). For example, the book jumped straight from “poop in the streets” to “it’s not an issue anymore” without any explanation of what went behind that. I know that I’m probably going into too much detail and expected too much detail, but I was really hoping that methods of cleaning surface water to make it usable would be discussed at least a little. Also, there are downsides to wind and solar other than just being dependent upon weather. Wind and solar appliances take resources to produce that were totally glazed over while every other energy generation method had significantly more detail. Last but not least, this book leaned quite one way when it came to politics. I think you already know which direction. Anywho, it’s overall a decent book, with some things that could use a more rounded view....more

When I read the Kindle book, I realized that they were all footnotes that the narrator did not read.
Audio Review: This is one of the best Christian books I have read on dating. The advice was Biblical (though I would have preferred more Scripture in the beginning chapters) and the author had a fantastic dry humor with good examples to back up his points. None of his advice was anything that I hadn't heard before, but it was a good reminder.

I was reading on Kindle and checked the progress only to see that I had read over half the book in one sitting. That is the sign of a good book. I do believe that the ending was a bit abrupt, but overall, it was one of the better books of the series.

The PowerPoint scene...*melts*. I was really hoping for good things when I picked this up. The author spent most of the page time in the first half developing relationships between characters. The story did not suffer on account of the message (see note below) for the most part. Vitaly was a great character. I think that Jimena still has a lot of growing up to do (she only wants to go to college to party :\), but Vitaly brought out the best in her and she brought out the best in him. That being said, Blue drove me crazy because his whole identity was *activist*. Also, I just don't think that he added anything of value to the story. The ending was so rushed. I have so many questions that were not answered. I kid you not, the ending is packed into one short chapter. A note about politics: The subject matter is often a hot topic. I thought the author did a decent job dealing with the topic although it is no secret what she believes. There were a few instances where she started discussing how horrible anyone who votes Republican is, but it had a lot less politics than I was expecting.

Content: language, underage drinking, kissing (no further and no hints of more)
Vitaly’s document finally loads. The first slide fills the screen with big purple letters. WHY CAN’T JIMENA LAND A GUY? I lean in and squint to get a better look at the subtitle, even though its font is at least twenty points big. A STRATEGY TO HELP JIMENA GET TO DATE NUMBER TWO. I turn to him, still fully squinting. “You made a PowerPoint presentation about my ineptitude at dating? Is this a joke?” “I never joke about PowerPoint, Jimena.”...more
