On July 10, a delegation of foreign consular officials and business leaders based in Hong Kong began the third day of their Hainan research tour. They visited the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Exhibition Hall as well as the Boao Yiling Life Care Center in order to learn more about the development of Hainan’s health & wellness industry.

China’s first national medical tourism pilot zone, Boao Lecheng has attracted worldwide interest thanks to highly advanced medical facilities and premium services. The delegation first visited the permanent Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Exhibition to learn about the area’s development history in detail and take a look at the latest research and practices in the fields of cell therapy and regenerative medicine. The group praised Lecheng’s broad international cooperative efforts.

"The pioneering efforts of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone are impressive.” Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong believes that Hainan and Pakistan have broad cooperation prospects in the areas of biomedicine, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure, and is confident that further collaboration is possible.

Later, the group visited the Boao Yiling Life Care Center, which is known for innovative medical technology, comprehensive health management services, and high-end customer service. The delegation focused on the center’s personalized health management program, advanced medical equipment, and professional medical team. They got a chance to try their hands at traditional Chinese calligraphy in the center’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Calligraphy Garden, experiencing for themselves the facility’s new health care model that combines culture with wellness. After holding in-depth discussions with staff, many group members spoke highly of the international medical tourism development achievements of Boao Lecheng.

The delegation is on a tour of Hainan from July 8 - 12, visiting Haikou, Wenchang, Qionghai, Danzhou, Changjiang, Sanya, and other parts of the island to learn about the province’s development progress, deepen exchanges between Hainan and Hong Kong SAR, and promote the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Hainan Free Trade Port.
