"Batman: The Animated Series"kept getting second leases on life. After running the syndication-required 65 episodes (the absolute most that cartoons often got back then) from 1992 to 1993, the series got 20 more episodes the following year. Rebranded as"The Adventures of Batman & Robin,"this back 20 has some of the all-time best"Batman"TV episodes:"Trial,""House and Garden, "" Harlequinade, "" Harley's Holiday, "and"Baby Doll."I shudder to think of a world without them.
After wrapping for real in 1995, Batman returned to television a mere two years later. "The New Batman Adventures"was a sequel to" The Animated Series, "with the same core voice cast and crew. Some fans and official releases even label" Adventures "as just another season of" The Animated Series. "The show's styles and settings, though, are different enough to stand apart.

Batman: The Animated Series is one of the most iconic pieces of television of all time, having laid the foundations for the Dcau as well as revolutionized storytelling in animation. One of the biggest reasons for its success has to be its co-creator,Bruce Timm, who has an innate understanding of the characters he portrays, which also helped him create other beloved projects likeJustice League,Batman: Beyond, andSuperman: The Animated Series.

The idea of robots taking control of our world is one that has provided many storylines to multiple franchises over the years. Even major comic franchises like Marvel and DC have also written storylines and characters on these storylines as we have witnessed in many series and movies over the years.

Cillian Murphyrecently had some choice words for his filmRed Eye(watch it Here), aWes Craven-directed thriller that was released back in 2005. But he wasn’t entirely negative. So that got me thinking: IsRed Eyea good film? Or is it more in the so bad it’s good category? I personally sawRed Eyein theaters and have always had a soft spot for it. But if Oppenheimer‘s own Cillian Murphy has an issue with it, maybe it’s worth a second gander. So let’s see whether it’s good, bad, or somewhere in between as we revisitRed Eyein the video embedded above!
Scripted byCarl Ellsworth, who crafted the story withDan Foos,Red Eyehas the following synopsis: In the wake of her grandmother’s funeral, hotel manager Lisa Reisert is waiting to fly back home when she meets charming Jackson Rippner at check-in.

One of the strengths found inBatman: The Animated Seriesis its compassion for heroes and villains alike. In this series, inspired by the success ofTim Burton’s 1989 feature film, writers and animators alike brought a more adult, more mature approach to the stories, rewriting the rules for children’s animated fare.

As much asHarley Quinnis still having a moment off the back ofSuicide Squad, the animated featureBatman and Harley Quinnis mostly a wasted opportunity.
The story includes some great elements that are delivered exceptionally well, but the positives are fighting an uphill battle against fart jokes and other inanities. How the combination came together is anyone’s guess, but it renders the whole a frustrating mix that can’t get out of its own way.
Poison Ivyand Jason Woodrue (The Floronic Man) have a scheme to save the world from the pollution and general pillaging of humans by mutating everyone into plant hybrids. The theory being that people will then have a more vested interest in keeping the world safe. It isn’t a scheme that makes a lot of sense, but crazy people and druid creatures from other dimensions make their own brand of sense.

Warner Animation’s just-releasedBatman and Harley Quinnis an interesting project from the standpoint of it being a more mature sequel to theBatman: The Animated Serieswhile still fitting into the now cohesive DC Animated Universe. It has the look and feel of the classic series while the content and themes are vastly different in keeping with Harley’s prominence in all-things DC these days along with upping the stakes in a longer production.
That said, the production is very entertaining and a welcome 30th film in the line of animated projects (the DC Universe: 10th Anniversary Collection is expected in November).
It’s a lot of fun to haveBruce Timm,Harley’s co-creator back in action as a co-scriptwriter.Sam Liuis also back to direct so we have a lot of veteran talent to bring tremendous affection to the project and it shows in every detail.

Well, the highly anticipatedBatman and Harley Quinnanimated film has finally arrived and, while I shouldn’t be surprised that it’s already stirring up controversy, I am. It seems like nobody can create any sort of art these days without enduring some sort of backlash, but that’s just the world we live in. Before diving into my review, I’ll preface by saying this movie is in no way for kids, but if you’re a prude, you may also want to sit this one out.
I say that because this aesthetic return toThe New Batman Adventuresfeels like an extended episode of that very series, but with much raunchy humor packed in. And as a guy with a raunchy sense of humor of his own who (mostly) keeps it under wraps in his writing, I can say that I appreciated most of it. To be quite honest,...

With just weeks to go until the release of the next DC animated movie, Batman and Harley Quinn, you could say that dropping a prequel comic couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. Animation.I really haven't been too impressed with what they've been doing recently, butBatman and Harley Quinnlooks like it could be great. I liked what I saw in the first trailer that was released, especially the fact that it was done in the same art style asBatman: The Animated Series. This is also an original story that was developed byBruce Timm.

The film revolves aroundBatman(Kevin Conroy) and Nightwing (Loren Lester) who are forced to reluctantly team-up withHarley Quinn(Melissa Rauch) in an attempt to stop a global catastrophe caused byPoison Ivy(Paget Brewster) and Jason Woodrue, Aka the Floronic Man.
As you'll see in the trailer, this film has a lighter and more playful tone and style reminiscent ofBatman: The Animated Series. It has a more comedic tone than anything else DC has done recently with their animated films. It actually looks like it could end up being a fun flick!

Without a doubt,Warner Bros. Animationhave been on a roll in 2017 when it comes to their direct-to-video line of DC animated films, already having impressed audiences with the R-rated supernatural adventureJustice League Darkand the long overdueTeen Titans:The Judas Contract. As for what lies ahead, well, it looks like they’re about to appeal to our nostalgic side with Batman and Harley Quinn.
I say that because this particular entry doesn’t conform to any one comic book artist’s style, nor does it toPhil Bourassa’s New 52 inspired template. Actually, it aligns perfectly withThe New Batman Adventures– or “the revamp episodes,” as they’re often referred to – giving a generous nod to whatBruce Timmestablished two decades ago.Truth be told,it makes sense to go in this creative direction when you consider that Timm himself is one of the creative minds behind this project.

Up until now, not much has been known about Batman and Harley Quinn aside from the fact that it will be an original feature from the mind of one of the Clown Princess of Crime’s co-creators,Bruce Timm. Now, however, an image has surfaced that speaks volumes as to what we can look forward to.
As it so happens, the folks at The World’s Finest spotted the first photo to be taken from the film on the iTunes extras page forTeen Titans:The Judas Contract.

From the 1970’s and 80’s to now, one thing will always be a sad constant: bullies will always exist. And there will always be that weak-willed teenager who is the constant target of these awful people. But, there’s always this fulfillment that comes about from films like Patrick and Carrie, that the bullied kid has a tendency to lash out at those who oppress them with otherworldly forces. These kids search outward for any escape and that leads them to some very dark corners. In the case ofEvilspeak, that dark corner is The Devil himself, and the results are typically gory and fantastically outrageous.
Put simply,Evilspeak,is about a thousand pounds...

Normally, this is the part of the review where I wax nostalgic, and talk a little bit about what this particular “cult classic” means to me. In the case ofEvilspeak, though, I can only claim to have known of its existence. I saw it on the video store shelf, but I never made the plunge and took it home. It’s surprising to me, honestly, because I think I rented damn near everything on the horror rack at least twice. I don’t know the reason that I continued to sitEvilspeak’s box back on the shelf, but I wish I had watched it back then, as it’s quite an entertaining movie. Featuring a young and awkwardClint Howard, playing a “slow”, cadet at a military school. As he gets picked on day in and day out, he turns to Satanism in the form of a book...
