There are a few things to remember about the first half of Blue Bloods' final season as the series heads toward its conclusion. AlthoughCBScancelledBlue Bloodslast year, the long-running drama about a multi-generational family of cops' final season was split into two parts, with the first 10 episodes airing in the spring of 2024.Blue Bloodshas eight episodes left before it leaves the airwaves permanently, though there may be a spin-off in the works.

Blue Bloodsdoes not have very many continuing storylines. Most episodes are self-contained, although there are sometimes longer character arcs, such as Jamie's battle with Frank over whether Jamie should become a sergeant in seasons 6 and 7 or Erin's bid to become the next Manhattan Da in season 13. In 2016 a fire nearly destroyed the only arthouse cinema on the East End of Long Island. Five years and $18 million dollars later, the iconic, century-old Sag Harbor Cinema is once again open for business.

A former whaling village, Sag Harbor, NY, located between Southampton and East Hampton, was at one point a thriving working-class community full of artists likeJohn Steinbeck.In recent years, deep pocketed homeowners flooded the sleepy enclave, creating more traffic and fancier village haunts. But despite the influx of affluence, Sag Harbor has managed to uphold its small-town, subdued, artistic vibe.

The village’s Main Street is home to Sag Harbor Cinema. Built to host vaudeville and burlesque shows in the 1890s, the venue become a silent movie house that evolved to show talkies. In 1978 Gerald Mallow bought the single-screen theater, which he owned until selling for $8 million in 2017.

In true Hollywood style, it was an offer I couldn't refuse: an invitation from Turner Classic Movies to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and inaugural roll out of the TCM Classic Film Tour of New York city movie locations. This event, which took place on August 20, was restricted to the media and invited guests. TCM hostRobert Osbornewas there to greet everyone along with a Hollywood legend,Jane Powell,who was clearly delighted to participate. Osborne and Powell used giant scissors to cut the ribbon on the bus, which is distinctively branded with the network's logo (and appropriately enough, the ultimate New York City "big" star,King Kong). Joining them was Dennis Adamovich, Senior VP of Brand Digital Activation and the guru behind the Turner Classic Movies Film Festivals.
