Max Payne(2001)
Maximum Payne
Greatest game of all time! I watched my father play this and when I was old enough I got to take a go at it. The plot? Excellent! The plot elements are very generic yes, but the way it was put together was amazing! Definitely a gothic film noir vibe which is exactly what it was going for. I still go back every year and replay this game along with its sequels! It's that good! The graphics are a little janky to today's standards but still overall good! The mechanics? Still love them to this day! This is one of those retro games you won't wanna miss out on playing! From Max'S cocky attitude to figuring out who the person who's responsible for his family's death, this game is overall one of the greatest games I've ever played! Thank you Sam lake and Remedy for the amazing experience! Play it!
Five Nights at Freddy's(2023)
Why a bad rating?
Why is the rating in the 5's? It was pretty good! They stuck with the original lore of the animatronics being haunted from the children that were lured and murdered (I feel like a lot of people didn't understand the story to the original games)
Keep in mind, this is a horror movie directed towards teens, so it's not as gory as saw, but it had some good jump scares and creepiness to it. Being the game is an indie game and doesn't give the player a lot of freedom, they used the original lore and created a fun story out of it. Sure, it has flaws as every movie does, but I went in expecting the movie to be dog crap, but I actually really enjoyed it. Not perfect by any means, but it wasn't bad either. I plan on seeing it again!
Advice? Watch it! Especially if you're a lover of the original game!
Alan Wake(2010)
Satisfying
Love the remedy universe! I started with Max Payne at a super young age and came across Alan Wake. I thought I'd give it a go and I was not disappointed! The only reason it's a 9 out of 10 is because, there are bugs, the controls do feel a bit broken and the story at first was extremely confusing. However, when you come to the realization of what is really happening, that's when the realization kicks in. This is a fantastic game and I'm super happy I got to enjoy it. The ending was extremely sad, not bad but... sad. I'm the kind of guy that prefers a sad ending instead of a happy one. Anyways, loved the game and if you haven't, play it! I'm starting Alan Wake 2 now;)
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor(2023)
Awesome!
Jedi Fallen Order was an amazing experience! Jedi Survivor? It did what Jedi Fallen Order was missing! More force powers, more weapons, more customization, especially on Cal which was something we were asking for since JFO. I'm not finished yet, but the story seems just as great as JFO was if not, in my opinion, better! We get new characters, familiar characters, even new enemies! I was worried with after the events of JFO we might get a lame story with Cal losing his connection with the force again, but BOY was I wrong! They still implemented what we've learned prior and added so much more to the overall game! Again, I'm not finished yet, but I imagine I'm more than half way done or at least half way done! So far so good! Worth the wait and worth the money!
Resident Evil 4(2023)
This is from a noob
So, I've been playing the RE games since RE 7 came out and loved it. I played it first since it was its own stand alone game that tied in to the franchise but didn't require me to play anything before. So needless to say I haven't really played the originals. I did attempt them, but they weren't my thing. I played the RE remakes 2 and 3 as well. About a year before it was released it was getting a remake, I bought RE4 for my switch, but I didn't get very far because the controls were... horrendous on the switch. So I said "eh, they're probably gonna remake 4 soon anyways. Anyways. Finally the day came the remake was released. Gotta say, I loved every thing about this remake. I didn't run in to any glitches or anything on my first play through which is rare, especially when it comes to new releases. This was probably by far one of the best remakes I've ever played, and one of the best videos games I've ever played. In my opinion? This is by far game of the year for me. Fan of the original? New to the franchise? Need time to kill? PLAY IT! You won't be disappointed!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II(2022)
Camp of Duty
I don't think I've been in a match yet that didn't have a normal player that doesn't hide behind a corner and sit there, roast some marshmallows, tell a ghost story, and just wait for a player to happen to walk by. Camping isn't fun. It's stupid, unskilled and boring. Why am I complaining about this? This is a mechanic. Sure. So, why isn't there game modes with small maps? Like shipment 24/7. That's what I played on MW because I was getting sick of everyone just camping. Where are those game modes? Enough about that though.
A lot of the maps were poorly made. You know that map with all those cars? I don't think I have to explain myself to help understand why it was made horribly. And there's many more maps to go with just that one.
Campaign? Solid. One complaint: not long enough. I beat it in one day on the hardest difficulty.
Where is rust?
Where is terminal?
You're remaking an original game, so why not bring those legendary maps back? I don't understand.
Didn't enjoy this other than the campaign, I genuinely feel like I wasted money on it.
I'm seeing a lot of SJW's defending this game by saying "just get better at it. Stop wishing for old cod back"
Well, I'm not wishing old cod was back. The argument of getting good falls apart on itself when everyone besides you is just hiding behind a corner waiting. That's not getting good, that's being lame.
Just because a video game looks incredible, doesn't make it a good game. Example: Max Payne 1 and 2 were amazing games with pretty raunchy graphics. Max Payne 3 had outstanding graphics and mechanics, yet it was the worst out of all of them.
My point: don't put all of your effort into graphics and mechanics and half a$$ everything else. Fix this video game.
Halloween Ends(2022)
Meh
Did I hate it? No. Did I love it? No. Was Halloween kills better? Yes, and It feels weird to say that. Though I'm glad Jamie Lee Curtis reprised her role
Yet again, the movie just... almost in a way couldn't make up its mind on what it wanted to do?
Best part is spoilers. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
It didn't really make sense that Michael decided to hide for four years? Maybe one year would have seemed believable, but he's been in the seer for four... dunno how he wasn't skinny from starving down there lol. From my understanding I thought Corey was gonna be the "next" Michael. See, "halloween ends" (michaels dead now, someone else can step up and be "the shape" that's what the movie wanted you to think. Then they took that, and just said "nah, this is michaels movie. So after Michael recruits Corey, he goes and kills him... the logic? Rushed probably, I dunno. Michael kinda just dies way easier than the mob trying to kill him from HK, wo... I dunno this movie was low key kinda odd... I liked the nostalgic Easter eggs though they did with Corey that was cool. Ever wanted to see Michael get chewed up in a grinder? Well now you can.
Needless to say:
Was it awful? No.
Was it the best out of the franchise? No.
Is it memorable? Not really.
Will I watch this again? Meh, who knows.
Overall: 5 out of 10 for me. I felt unsatisfied with the way this movie turned out.
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn(2022)
Not perfect, but not awful either!
Was it as good as the first and second movie? No. Was it as awful as people are saying? Not at all. Just a tip to everyone who watched this expecting a sequel to Jeepers creepers 2, this movie has nothing to do with the original 3. Victor Salva sold the franchise and moved on (probably due to what he did, if you know, you know) so, needless to say, he had nothing to do with this film. I'm noticing a lot of people angry that this isn't the movie they wanted, and how they wanted a sequel to the original. Well, suck it up. Just because it's not what you want, doesn't make it a bad movie.
What I like:
What I really like about this movie, is the fact it's a completely new story. I love that it's something new, but still similar in a lot of ways to the original films. I thought it was really cool that we got to see The Creeper come out of hibernation to start a new cycle, which hasn't been shown yet, so that was super cool. I liked how they did the psychic thing like they did with the originals. I like that this movie wasnt afraid to show some blood, gore and brains! The creeper was still super creepy, even though he was totally different from Johnthan Brecks.
What was lacking:
The acting did seem a little bit off, this movie wasn't afraid to show us the main characters undies a few times (why it was necessary is beyond me) about halfway through you'll start to really see that this movie is an indie horror movie (meaning you could tell the budget wasn't all that big) mainly when before the escape house and even after, you can start to see the green screen, and certain parts did look a little fake.
^ my points above aside from one, is because it's an INDIE HORROR MOVIE. It's not going to be perfect by any means.
Aside from everything I just said, I still think it was a pretty good film. If you hated it, that's totally okay, but I'm not ashamed to say I liked it.
7 out of 10 for me. I would even say 8.5 if the cgi and even the green screen was just a little bit better.
Jeepers Creepers 2(2003)
Still fun, still exciting, thrilling, scary and gorey!
I actually watched this film before the first if you can believe that. It actually traumatized me at a young age lol. But I don't wanna talk about that!
The sequel? Well, like most sequels, it didn't live up to the original, BUT, it was still a great film none the less! This time around, The Creeper has a LOT more screen time, which may have actually been the problem to why it didn't live up to the original? I dunno. The Creeper is shown a lot more in this movie though. None of the original cast are in this one, which was kind of a bummer, Trish would have been cool to see even as a cameo, but you can't get everything you want. This movie takes place at the end of the creepers cycle before he hybernates for another 23 years. The characters? Well... Izzy was memorable, same with Jack and Jackie Targett, but everyone else kind of didn't work? I mean, basketball team, all jocks, ones a d*ck head, and the other believes in sticking together, the typically basketball drama, they kind of have a black versus white kind of moment which leads to people getting killed. Anyways, I don't wanna spoil the movie for everyone who hasn't seen it. This one is still terrifying, thrilling, suspenseful and will still keep you on your toes, the same with the first film. And a new big thing in this movie? Lots more gore than the first. Either way, the movie was still great, just not as good as the first one. If you loved the first one though, chances are you'll probably love this one too!
Jeepers Creepers(2001)
Terrific, scary, thrilling and best of all... horrifying!
Classic movie with stunning effects for its time, also an awesome killer that hasn't been done before! Scary, thrilling and will keep you on your toes! By far the scariest movie I've ever seen in my life! The main characters are fun, entertaining and flushed out within the first 10 minutes of the film which is awesome
because no film that I know of has ever accomplished something like that before. If your a horror movie fan but tired of the over the top baby sitter slashers and want someone new and terrifying, give this movie a try!
Though the director is a complete creep, this movie was and is still amazing none the less! Watch it! You won't be disappointed!
Halloween Kills(2021)
Understand: It's called Halloween KILLS
Something a lot of people arnt understanding... it's called "Halloween Kills" I'm seeing a lot of the reviews for this movie saying "michael was perfect" "lots of blood and gore" "the plot sucked" it's called Halloween KILLS. You need to understand, this movie is made for Michaels character, which is why there were so many kills and why it was so bloody and gorey. Yeah, the plot kinda sucked, but it's the middle of the trilogy. We wanted more and we got more. Halloween Ends I'm sure will be a great climax, just give it a chance. I'm sure once Ends comes out, you'll change your mind. They still did a great job with the finished product, especially with the practical effects, not to mention the atmosphere and visuals were pronominal. As good as Halloween or Halloween 2017? No. Was it still a good movie? Yes.
