Moms' Night Out(2014)
Conservative Christian Slapstick Done Really Well
You need to be in the mood for slapstick, which sometimes happens for me around midnight. Had been having a bit of a meltdown earlier today, and this movie was good medicine - Nonstop laughing out loud while everyone else in the house was sound asleep. This is one of the first slapstick movies I've ever loved. Probably should feel bad for those who hated it. Maybe tomorrow.
Bella(2006)
This Movie Soars
After his superficial life changes in tragic loss, Jose comes into a situation where he watches his friend following a similar tragic path. He cannot really just go on 'like normal'. He has to decide what his priorities will be. It is a second chance for him. Well done.
If You're Gone(2019)
Profoundly disquieting movie
This movie deals with some rough themes. I was so ticked and confused at everyone for reprimanding Lil for not moving on. Then feeling at a loss at the end of the movie. God, please help people that cannot find loved ones, especially in their feelings of isolation, confusion and lack of closure.
Flywheel(2003)
Faith based inspiring story
Enjoyed the story line. The casting of Jay's son, Todd, is my favorite. Especially the heart-wrenching scene near the beginning of the movie.
Beckman(2020)
Movie that's more honest than the reviews
The truth is, we really hate some of the things we struggle with. Christians are often passionate, hypocritical people who say one thing and do another.
Then suddenly we go, "Wait, I just need to trust the Lord." This movie was quite a ride. Was expecting the movie to be assassinated in the reviews. Not disappointed. Keep it up, Mr. David A. R. White. All these non-fans that just can't seem to stop watching your movies.
The Moment After: The Awakening(2006)
Really good acting & action
I've watched this a couple of times now. Gotta love David A.R. White as an actor, but also a fun plot, solid casting. Best scene is the 'you need to forgive scene'. Isn't that the truth! He's just preachin it up and then gets real.
The Line(2012)
Compelling Documentary
Very well done, compelling documentary. Kept going back and re-watching various sections of this story on how people found themselves in poverty.
Vindication(2019)
Eager to see more!
Binge watched this two nights in a row. Disappointed to run out of episodes!
Pretty intense and enjoyable show with solid acting and casting. The last few episodes from Season 1 were my favorites.
Overcomer(2019)
Thought-provoking
If you loved their previous movies, this won't disappoint. Story, acting, casting are all very strong. I cried for the resentful gramma. Can't wait to see again.
Beyond the Mask(2015)
Wow, what a fun movie
This movie has great action, storyline, acting and casting. These days when a really good movie follows traditional ideas of a "good" protagonist and a "bad" antagonist without murking it up and a clear storyline (especially when a bit of religion is thrown in there - unless the antagonist is religious - then people HATE the movie and rate it low.). Now if the movie is not engaging, people don't care and don't bother to slam the ratings. Well done and thank you to the producers.
All Saints(2017)
Unique Inspirational film
While inspirational, this movie is also very real in depicting the awkward and unpredictable messiness of life while trying to follow God. Some of the casting is really strong. It may push us a little toward out-of-the-box thinking. I will try to see it again partly because it was thought provoking and also because there were a few scenes I couldn't understand what was said. It is not necessarily Christian, but more spiritual. As far as reviews go, it's humorous to see how a spiritual movie predictably ends up averaging 6 stars when only 7% of viewers rated it 6 stars. Since 40% rated it 10 stars and 20% rated it 1 star there's a much higher chance (60%) you will be in one of the totally love/totally hate it groups.
