- TriviaIn 2001 due to falling ratings, the BBC chose to axe the show. Because BBC owns the name rights, the show had to be renamed5th Gear (2002).The show was only revived (Top Gear (2002)) becauseJeremy Clarksonwas considered to be the most popular presenter of them all and many people had considered his absence to be the cause of the demise of the show.

Featured review
Top Gear in its current state may not be at its peek, but it is still certainly a cut above the other motoring programs. Driven had a good atempt, but its still no cigar. Top Gear recently celebrated its 21st birthday, and personally i cant wait for its 42nd birthday celbrations. Tiff Needell is possible one of the best drivers ever (just listen to the priase at the beginning of his 'Fast and Furious' video) VBH was drafted in at first just too prvide some eye candy, but has now proven that she can hold her own against the boys. Jeremy, is sadly now absent from the current TV line up, as is the doggy Mr. Wilson, but Jason Barlow does a half decent job of takne his place. Steve Berry, the motorbike guru, has also gone on to pastures new, and his Andy Kershaw style is sadly missed. Great program, keep going.
