Dawn, or Dale, was born Dawn Beaven in 1961, and has worked in several
different fields. Originally she made the most of her natural
prettiness to become a model, appearing in magazines and videos. She
starred in several real-life sex education videos, and also some
soft-core adult entertainment for companies such as Your Choice, Fiona
Cooper and Mistique. In 1985, at the age of 24 she felt pressured due
to the competitive nature of this business to have silicone breast
implants. Unfortunatly these later caused her many health problems and
she now devotes much of her time to running a website, Silicone
Survivors, and campaigning in the press against the continued use of
silicone.
After her modeling work Dawn began to appear in some small roles in mainstream movies, and can be seen singing Stand By Your Man in Mike Leigh's All or Nothing (2001). She also started doing horse and motorcycle stunt work, and became a stand-in on some major motion pictures. This included uncredited work standing in for "Posh" in Spice World (1997), performing a drainpipe-climbing stunt for Elisabeth Shue in The Saint (1997) and doubling for Joely Richardson in difficult scenes in The Echo (1998).
Due to Dawn's health problems she has toned down her movie work now, but has appeared on programmes such as the Trisha Goddard show Trisha (1998). She now lives in Wallington, Surrey where she also does some work as a make-up artist, having trained at the Joan Price Make-up College. Her work in this field includes TV commercials, magazines and TV programmes.
