While crafting an epic adventure series, one of the most important elements that needs to be addressed first is its world-building. It is true that series like One Piece, Naruto, and Hunter x Hunter have set the bar quite high in this regard. However, they still cannot outshine the breathtaking world of Made in Abyss.

Yoshihiro Togashi has created a vast world for Hunter x Hunter, and with huge world-building, there are bound to be a few mistakes. While the manga does not have many glaring plotholes, there is one issue that is often discerning for fans.
The issue begins with the presentation of The Phantom Troupe in the series and how they conduct themselves a little too freely despite being wanted criminals. This has led fans to question: How the hell does no one recognize and report them?

The Chimera Ant arc of Hunter x Hunter was one of the masterpieces by Yoshihiro Togashi. From Kite’s sacrifice to Meruem’s death scene, everything clicked right in place. But Togashi completely ignored one twist that could have altered the pace of the series altogether.
After Kite’s death, Gon was adamant to kill Neferpitou, and it even led him to transform into the older and taller version of himself. But maybe a different ending to the battle was required to push the series to greatness.

Yoshihiro Togashi, the legendary mangaka of Hunter x Hunter, has never once shied away from expressing admiration for other manga artists and their works. He is friends with other iconic mangaka like Masashi Kishimoto and Eiichiro Oda, the creators of Naruto and One Piece. In a surprising turn of events, Togashi also enjoys genres beyond what he’s used to. This interview with the mangaka of Kuroko’s Basketball, Tadatoshi Fujimaki, reveals Togashi’s love for his sports manga.

The Hunter x Hunter mangaka had a surprising way of appreciating sports anime and this includes how and who he supports in Kuroko’s Basketball. Despite the story being made to root for Kuroko and Seirin High, Togashi opted to feel otherwise and have a bias toward other teams.

Yoshihiro Togashi created plenty of interesting characters for Hunter x Hunter, but only one of them dies and still lives to see another day. The character in question is Kite, an extremely powerful hunter who was also Ging Freecss’ student.
Togashi gave Kite one of the craziest developments ever because how many characters die and then literally get reincarnated? Kite has been loved by fans due to his blunt yet caring nature, but it has been some time since the character was witnessed in the series.

Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter remains one of the most popular adventure Shonen series that features the layered and heartwarming tales of its characters. The mangaka did not need thousands of episodes to showcase these qualities in an ever-expanding world. In just 148 episodes, he made the viewers a fan of his work, which even received a remake in 2011.

Interestingly, he was not the only one because even Masashi Kishimoto has also created one of his most popular characters based on the show’s characters.

For the past few months, Tatsuki Fujimoto, one of the most renowned manga creators, famously known for works like Chainsaw Man and Look Back, has been getting mixed reviews on his artwork. Chainsaw Man has one of the biggest fanbases in the manga industry, but as of now, this fanbase has been divided by the current art style of the manga.

A few months back, Fujimoto changed his art style in the Chainsaw Man manga series. While some fans didn’t mind it, others were not at all in favor of it. They felt like the drawings became worse and his work felt sped up. This led to a huge backlash against the manga creator, as his drawings were one of the best aspects of his work, the biggest example being his one-shot manga Look Back, which recently got an anime adaptation.

Episode 170 of Black Clover aired in March 2021, after which the anime entered an indefinite hiatus. The hiatus has not been liked by many fans, especially due to the manga also changing its schedule to quarterly releases per year. However, it was a crucial decision that prevented the anime from airing countless fillers.
Black Clover‘s hiatus was extremely necessary since the anime was close to catching up with the manga. It was a clever move on the part of Studio Pierrot which has already seen poor responses to Naruto and Boruto fillers. In fact, another major series, One Piece also followed the footsteps of Black Clover.

Hunter x Hunter‘s Chimera Ant Arc is one of the best arcs to exist in the history of Shonen anime/manga. While anyone can create a powerful villain, very few authors can make readers cry for the antagonist, and Yoshihiro Togashi successfully achieved this with this arc.
But just because it was an extremely well-crafted, action-filled, yet emotional arc, doesn’t mean it is perfect. In fact, one plot hole in the finale of this arc is so huge that it’s almost glaring in the face.

Much like big American superhero comic books, there are many manga and anime that are intimidating for newcomers simply because of how long they are. Titles can be as relatively short as the 141-episode-long "Hunter x Hunter" or as long as "One Piece," which is well over 1,100 (!) episodes. What's more, unlike, say, the Spider-Man comics, you can't simply pick and choose the story arc that appeals to you and skip the rest when it comes to the likes of "One Piece" or Naruto." It'd be like watching only season 3 or 5 of "Game of Thrones" or "Lost," robbing you of important context and serialization.
And yet, that doesn't stop anime fans from recommending newcomers outright skip big chunks of the source material, whether that means ignoring the many filler episodes and arcs of "Naruto" or bypassing the entirety of the original "Dragon Ball" and starting with "Dragon Ball Z." However, that...

The protagonist of One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy, has been sailing through the seas of the One Piece world for the past 27 years in order to become the King of Pirates. He has gone through an indefinite amount of adventures to become the Emperor of the Sea, and the next step in his journey would take him closer to the One Piece treasure.

However, his journey is only going to get even more difficult from here on. Ever since Wano, his role as the main character has been redefined as the responsibility of liberating the One Piece world has now fallen on his shoulders. But what if he is not the main character of the series anymore, and someone else does his job for him?
According to a bizarre One Piece theory, Luffy might not be the protagonist of the prominent Elbaph arc.

One of the most iconic elderly characters in anime has to be Isaac Netero from Hunter x Hunter. As a mentor to Gon and Killua, their relationship was quite humourous yet thrilling, which showed another playful side of the old man. Moreover, the character was the representation of Buddhism within the vast Hunter x Hunter world.
Known for his martial arts mastery, Netero is the idol of strength, resilience, and charisma. He is a seemingly noble, powerful leader who stands up to the world’s greatest threats. However, as the story progressed, the elder man showed a new side of himself.

To make it big and have an impact on the manga industry, the work hours and the pressure to make deadlines are notoriously tiring. Several manga artists have admitted to not sleeping properly or even at all near deadlines and one of them is Hajime Isayama, the man who brought us Attack on Titan. The industry is ruthless and polishing the content needs a lot of love and attention before going out to the editors. Someone as prolific as the creator of Attack on Titan certainly had to feel the pressure of connecting such a convoluted plot and so deadlines for his manga had to matter.

Despite wanting to make a manga that was “easy to read,” Isayama chose a very complicated and nuanced plot. Attack on Titan is certainly not even close to easy and the author was rather humble about it.

Hunter x Hunter revolves around Nen and its users, and over the years, Yoshihiro Togashi has shown some very powerful Nen users. From Gon and Killua to Meruem, some Nen users are so overpowered that beating them is a next-to-impossible task.
But there’s one Nen user whose ability is so overpowered yet broken that he tops the list. The ability in question is Knuckle Bine’s Apr, which has one of the most complex yet interesting working mechanisms in the series.

Popular anime streaming platform Crunchyroll, which is used all over the world, has had yet another disaster. The streaming platform has been accused of stealing and redistributing fan mail that belonged to David Wald, one of the most prominent English Voice actors in the industry. The issue came to light when Wald shared multiple tweets accusing Crunchyroll.

According to the voice actor, Crunchyroll and Funimation opened their private fan mails, threw out the letters, and distributed other special items among their employees. This is a major accusation considering Crunchyroll is one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world, with over 15 million paid subscribers as of 2024. Not only that, the platform has also produced many prominent anime series and movies under the banner of “Crunchyroll Originals.”

The two most prominent manga authors in the community, One Piece’s Eiichiro Oda and Bleach’s Tite Kubo, have been known to be at odds with each other since the beginning of their careers. Although the two have earned worldwide recognition and fame, their competitive nature to make their work the best in the industry has always been a highlighting factor of their relationship.

However, in the past few years, it has grown so much that fans have started creating “fake” beef between the two manga creators. There have been multiple incidents where Kubo and Oda’s words have been manipulated to make them look like the two manga creators hate each other to the core.
But as mentioned above, these are nothing more than allegations. While they do not have a friendly relationship like others, they respect each other’s work and appreciate...

The one thing that’s common between most Shonen series is the bubbly, and cheerful heroes. Even this Hunter x Hunter star will vouch for it. Junko Takeuchi played the role of Gon in Yoshihiro Togashi’s series. Her role as Naruto is more notable and praiseworthy. The actress, however, has a different opinion regarding the character altogether.

Takeuchi voiced the titular character for nine years in a row. While most would assume her to mirror the character, it isn’t the case. Especially with her initial views regarding the character. This, however, has changed in the past few years, especially with the hero’s development. This only proves Masashi Kishimoto’s brilliance in creating a fleshed-out protagonist.

When thinking of Yoshihiro Togashi, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the legendary manga creator hunched over his desk, constantly working on the next chapter of Hunter x Hunter, or maybe, more accurately, taking another one of his infamous hiatuses. But there’s more to Togashi than just his irregular work schedule, in fact, his married life is probably one of the most fascinating aspects of his life.

Yoshihiro Togashi is married to another iconic mangaka, Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon manga. My Love Story has one of the best takes on a slow-burn romance between a high school boy and a college girl. Generative AI is being surrounded by controversy lately. Sure, it can entertain viewers by having them listen to their favorite actors voice a line they wouldn’t normally say in a clip. However, it violates copyright laws, as these content creators use generative AI without getting permission from the owner of the copyrighted voice.

AI caused quite the disruption for the voice acting community in general, since it can literally imitate or create new voices for videos and television. It can potentially replace humans to voice act and companies that have portions of the copyrights can use these voices for their own benefits. This has been going out of hand and several voice actors in Japan have stepped up to address the problem.

The world of anime is known for its intricate and outlandish stories. But within those stories are some of the best foreshadowing in storytelling as a whole. One such figure who is a master of foreshadowing as a tool of storytelling is Eiichiro Oda. The mangaka has long foreshadowed many pivotal plot points in One Piece that were well-connected later on, such as the revelation of Joy Boy. However, another mangaka could rival him, and it could be Yoshihiro Togashi if this particular theory by Hunter x Hunter fans comes true.

For outliving its contemporaries as well as some famous titles of the next generation, One Piece has gained unparalleled prominence in the anime industry. It has been more than two decades and the manga has continued to grow in worldwide popularity. The previous year proved to be a blessing in this respect. Due to the live-action adaptation and the Gear 5 commotion, the popularity of the series reached new heights.

Yoshihiro Togashi is one of the most influential mangake ever. He is the creator of two of the greatest Shonen manga, Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter. Togashi is known for his detailed manga panels and has the ability to keep a steady pace throughout. Even after being with Shonen Jump for almost three decades, the mangaka is not a fan of their tight deadline schedules.
Togashi completed Yu Yu Hakusho, but it had a rushed ending and could have had a better one. However, Hunter x Hunter was never completed since the creator suffered from tremendous back pains and had to take multiple hiatuses. With Togashi back in action, he had Weekly Shonen Jump agree to his demand of making Hunter x Hunter a “non-weekly serialization.”
