BoJack Horseman (2014)
BoJack is over, and everything is worse now
This show made me laugh and cry in every single season I watched. The ending was sad, in a way, and happy. And I loved every minute of it. This show has got to have one of the most complex portrayals of mental illness I've seen in any other show. It's a shame it ended.
Onisciente (2020)
Good
I watched this show because it's from the creator of 3%. I was really curious to know what it would be like. The show is good, clever and has a good twist in the end. It's definitely not as good as 3%, but it's still worth the watch. Patiently waiting for season 2
Iron Fist (2017)
The Best part was the Special Effects
I was exited to watch this show. Iron Fist could bring a more mystical side to the table in the Defenders. But I was disappointed. I liked one or two episodes, but that's it. The whole rest of the time, I was just waiting for it to be over. The special effects were good, but that was the best part. I rated it 5 stars because season 2 showed some improvement
Disenchantment (2018)
Getting better
I watched this show before knowing it was created by Matt Groening, so I had no expectations. It was entertaining and had some funny jokes. The last episode of Season 1 was when I was really getting interested in the show and I loved the cliffhanger of the ending of the three seasons. The seasons seem to get gradually better, with the third season giving some excellent character development for Tiabeanie. Elfo, Luci and Zøg also have interesting arcs. However, there are a lot of different plotlines, with some of them feeling unresolved or abandoned and there are a couple of plot holes every now and then. And although the humor adds a good atmosphere and is actually often pretty funny, the series works best as a drama than a comedy. The worldbuilding is really growing on me and the animation and voice acting are great.
Sum up: takes some time to hook you up. But once it does, it's worth it. Exited for season 4
The Hollow (2018)
Enjoyable
I was looking for a show that wouldn't be too complicated or too long (1or 2) seasons with a beginning, middle and end. Something simple, but enjoyable. The Hollow gave me just that.
The show has good characters, great voice acting and a suspense plot that kept me hooked and intrigued from begining to the end.
I'm not a huge fan of the ending, it made me feel like all the stakes, rivalries and bonding between the characters was for nothing. Season 2 had an interesting plot.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
A kids TV show??
So many of my friends think this is a tv show for kids. And that is so far from the truth... Just because a show is more light hearted and doesn't have swearing or violence, it doesn't make it necessarily a kids tv show.
This series has iconic and unique characters and character arcs even for the villains, a fascinating magic system, very good world building, and great voice acting. My only regret is that they did not make more seasons of this masterpiece. But I believe that is because of the terrible movie adaptation, which I prefer to pretend doesn't exist...
This shows that kid friendly series is not always a series FOR kids...
Jessica Jones (2015)
Strong Story with a simpathetic hero and a terrifying villain
This show's season 1 was amazing. Incredible suspense, great performances by Krysten Ritter and David Tennant. It has a hero, that is not really a hero. She is someone who was severely broken and traumatized. It also has a truly terrifying yet charismatic antagonist with an even more creepy power. The noir/detective theme of the show is really interesting and the soundtrack is excellent. It is very different from most Marvel productions, and not in a bad way
The Flash (2014)
Only giving it 6 stars because of season 1,2 and a few other episodes
At first, I really liked this series. It had a likeable protagonist, a promising villain and some good characters. But as the show advanced, it became a soap opera with super powers. The characters make dumb moral decisions for the sake of conflict. The characters stoped developing and now, they are basically reset every episode. Because what this show does is, every episode the characters face a different internal conflict. And when you make 6 seasons of it, it becomes really predictable, and repetitive.
AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE SPEECHES.
Every single Episode they have at least 2 pep talks or inspirational speeches. I could elaborate on all the other problems, but it would take too long.
With that said, it is still pretty entertaining, the plot is not in a nonsensical level, and I still watch it when I have nothing else to do
3% (2016)
Tremendously Underrated
I was really surprised by the fact that this show is really unknown. It is a great tv series that definitely deserves more recognition.
Some of the reviews say that they couldn't get past the first episode. The show does get better.
It is not perfect. It takes a while to get you hooked and it has a lower budget than other Netflix series.
But overall, it is a clever and great series, with good themes, complex and grey characters, and an intriguing plot. It is a dystopian YA thriller with a lot of depth. At least, that is the case for seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was a disappointment, which is the reason why I did not rate this show higher. Season 4 was intense and complex, and a great conclusion to this great tv show that will always be on my Netflix list
Definitely Recommend It
