In 2015,Ryan Coogler’s Creed came out of nowhere to become one of the biggest box office surprises of the year after taking a tired Rocky franchise and turning it into something fresh, original and highly lucrative. Coogler did this by managing to stay true to the essence of the original films and by adding his own twist on a much-loved story.

Relinquishing his directorial duties inCreed IIin favour of writing and producing, Coogler has handed the baton to newcomer Steven Caple Jr in this impressive sequel which sees Michael B Jordan back as boxer Adonis Creed (son of Apollo Creed) andSylvester Stalloneas the iconicRocky Balboaand Creed’s bo xing coach.

After a triumphant win which sees him crowned world champion and with his singer girlfriend Bianca (Tessa Thompson) expecting their first child, Adonis Creed seems to be finally on his way to achieving everything he’s ever dreamt of.

How in the world did we get two spinoffs out of “Rocky IV”?Granted, it’s not the most pressing question on your mind as you watch the agreeably paint-by-numbers “Creed II,”the inevitable sequel toRyan Coogler’s 2015 hit. “Creed”reignited the “Rocky”franchise with the story of the late Apollo Creed’s outside-of-marriage son Adonis, played byMichael B. Jordanas a brooding young man contending with the legacy of a champion he never knew.

But it is a bit of a head-scratcher that the worst entry inSylvester Stallone’s initial series — in whichRocky Balboa’s fight againstIvan Drago(Dolph Lundgren) was really jingoistic America versus a cartoon Soviet Union, which was really aging action star versus bulked-up newcomer, but which was Really Stallone’s terrible direction pummeling the crap out of Eisenstein’s theory of montage — also sowed the seeds for its newfound appreciation and reworked survival.

The cause as yet are unknown but his sister Loretta Kelly, said he had regularly been in hospital over the past year.

Before becoming an actor, Burton - who was from Flint, Michigan - briefly fought professionally and won Flint Golden Gloves light heavyweight titles in 1955 and again in 1957.

Burton is seen briefly in Creed, which was released in the UK last month, but only as part of a flashback which used stock footage from an earlier film.

The man accused of murdering Atlanta-based rapper Dolla last year in a Los Angeles-area mall has been acquitted. Music promoter Aubrey Louis Berry was found not guilty of first degree murder and all other charges stemming from the shocking incident Friday. A Los Angeles jury has acquitted Aubrey Louis Berry of killing up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Dolla during a shooting last year at a crowded L.A. mall, The Associated Press reports. Deputy District Attorney and prosecutor Bobby Grace's contention that Berry killed Dolla (real name: RoderickAnthony BurtonII) as an act of vengeance was rejected by jurors.

Upon the reading of the verdict, Berry hugged his attorney while Burton's mother, Dayne Robinson, reportedly sobbed: "Oh, please, somebody help me."

T-Pain is still giving out love to his late friend Dolla. The singer recently paid homage to the slain rapper by having a mural of Dolla painted on the hood of his vintage car.

"Showin my respects for my dog R.I.P. on the 72 Chevy Chevelle," Pain posted Monday on Twitter. Pain told us last week that he and Dolla — a former labelmate on Jive Records and collaborator on the song "Who the F--- Is That?" — had become great buddies.

"Man," Pain said on the phone about Dolla's murder. "It happens every day. It don't take nothing but time before it happens to someone you know. We had problems when I first got signed. [But] then we worked it out, and after that we was the best of friends.

The attorney representing the man accused of shooting and killing Atlanta rapper Dolla in Los Angeles on Monday claims that his client acted in self-defense.

"If somebody has a reasonable perception that he is in danger of bodily injury or death, he has a right to defend himself," Howard K. Price, lawyer for Aubrey Louis Berry told MTV News on Thursday. Price said his client shot at Dolla (real name: RoderickAnthony Burton), 21, at a Los Angeles mall on Monday because he feared for his life when he ran into the rapper and his entourage at theBeverly Center.

Berry was arrested on Monday at Los Angeles International Airport, where he was carrying a loaded 9mm handgun, and charged on Wednesday with two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of murder.

While authorities continue to investigate the origins of the conflict, the man accused of shooting up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Dolla was charged with murder Wednesday.
