Jerzy Trela was a Polish actor with a remarkable career in theater, television, and movies. He graduated from the National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow in 1969. His debut was in the same year at the Rozmaitosci Theatre in Krakow. He was associated with the Stary Theatre in Krakow, where he played many roles and worked with directors likeAndrzej Wajda,Konrad Swinarski,Kazimierz Kutz,andKrystian Lupa.He was also a professor and rector at the National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow from 1984 to 1990. His most known roles include Józef Mitura inAutoportret z kochanka (1996),and Chilo Chilonides inQuo vadis (2001).
