Boris Ausserer is producer with Lucky Bird Pictures. He was born in Annecy (France) and his roots and family comes from South Tyrol (Italy). Boris graduated from Munich Film School in 1998, having augmented his studies with a number of periods abroad, including time spent in Cambridge, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. He started working for MTM Filmproduktion but was soon hired as junior producer for the Bavaria Film Group. Only a year later, in 2000, he was appointed producer for international co-productions with Bavaria Media Television. From 2003 he was Deputy Head of International Co-Production, a position he retained until leaving Bavaria Media Television for Lucky Bird Pictures GmbH. During this time he was involved in the development and financing of a number of TV co-productions, such as La Bicyclette Bleue, Die Auferstehung, Sans Famille, Tatort - Tödliche Souvenirs, Kitchen Affairs, Heinrich Breloer's docudrama Speer & Hitler - The Devil's Architect as well as Der Todestunnel, White Menace - The Avalanche of the Century and Henri IV, with key European partners including TF1, Mediaset, Rai, France2, M6, TVC, TVN and ORF. In 2008, Boris Ausserer became a producer at Lucky Bird Pictures, producing international co-productions such as the ARD two-parter The Chinese Man and Little Lady (ZDF), as well as the Sat.1 TV movie Sex Sells!. His recent projects include Ghosthunters - On Icy Trails (based on the novel by Cornelia Funke) and 13 Minutes (aka Elser).
