Patrick Spain is a Re-recording Mixer known for Amy Poehler's "Lucy and Desi", Ryan Murphy's "9-1-1" and "9-1-1: Lone Star", as well as Seth MacFarlane's "Family Guy" and "American Dad".
He began his career at Signet Sound; a boutique film scoring studio occupying Motown's west coast studio. During his time there he worked on over 50 film scores for the likes of Randy Newman, Thomas Newman, Jon Brion, Terence Blanchard, and many others.
In 2007 he made the move to the legendary Ocean Way Recording (later re-named United Western), and Record One. Here he had an education in classic recording gear, and techniques for pop, rock, Jazz, hip-hop, in addition to film scores. Throughout this period Patrick was lucky enough to work for such wide-ranging artists as Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Herbie Hancock, Dr. Dre, Beck, John Mayer, Dave Stewart, Seal, Pink, Dido, Erykah Badu, Brandi Carlile, Paramore, Gerald Wilson, (Posthumously) Barry White, and with composers such as James Horner, Patrick Doyle, and Mychael Danna.
In 2011 Patrick was offered an opportunity to work for Todd-AO. It was another expansive learning experience, this time in the state-of-the-art dub stage, working on major motion pictures like "Avengers", "Lone Survivor" and well-regarded television such "Girls" and "Nashville".
Across these career moves Patrick has kept busy mi xing dialogue, effects, single mixer films and television, working everywhere from Technicolor, Warner Brothers, Bad Robot, Advantage Audio, and Formosa Group.
