James Gunnwill soon be launching his version of theDC UniversewithDavid Corenswetas theMan of Steel, and with this will come along multiple other characters that were previously either left in the dark or left unexplored. One of these widely speculated characters includesLoboas well, the villain widely rumored to be embodied byJason Momoa.
Corenswet in and as Superman. | @jamesgunn/Ig.
While Momoa has been vocal about his heartiest desire to play this unhinged interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter, nothing has been confirmed about even the character’s debut in this respective rebooted super-verse. But this villain is actually so iconic with some truly scary powers that seeing him face Corenswet’s Man of Steel is all we want to see after this.
Lobo is Scarier Than Fans’ Wildest Imaginations
Of all the comic book characters in comics, perhaps none holds as scary powers as Lobo.

All was not well withSylvester Stallone’s career in the summer of 1995.Judge Dreddhad come out, and, despite blockbuster business overseas, the film flopped in the all-important North American market. It would kick off a dry spell in Sly’s career, with many of his follow-up movies also doing poorly, to the point that in the early 2000s, he was stuck doing low-rent movies that went direct to video, such asShadeandAvenging Angelo.Of course, a major comeback for the ItalianStallionwas just around the corner. Still, in this episode of Stallone Revisited, we look back at his follow-up to Judge Dredd,Assassins, which, on paper, should have been one of Sly’s classics but has gone on to become something of an obscure, underrated outing on his CV.

It seems that just about everybody is playing Wordle these days. The software engineerJosh Wardlecreated the puzzle game sometime last year for him and his partner to enjoy, but after sharing it with family members, he decided to make Wordle public in October. Since then, the game has attracted millions of players around the world, prompting the "New York Times" to acquire the game for a hefty price in January. Over the past few weeks, it's become so popular that fans have created their own versions of the game based on their favorite artists, TV shows, or films. For example, if you're a member of the BTS Army, you can play BTS Wordle, which includes words inspired by theK-pop group. Good news, Swifties: There's also aTaylor Swiftversion of Wordle called Taylordle.
Just like the original version, Taylordle requires players to correctly guess a five-letter word within six tries.

What We Do in the ShadowsSeason 3 Episode 1
What We Do in the Shadowsseason 3 episode 1, “The Prisoner,”moves quickly through the blood and raw meat left over from the slaughter of the season 2 finale, “Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires.” The episode is named for the faithful familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), who took out about 70 percent of the most powerful vampires in the Tri-State area. When the episode opens, he is being held in a cage while Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Nadja of Antipaxos, (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo Cravensworth (Matt Berry), andColin Robinson(Mark Proksch) decide his fate.
It’s not an easy decision, apparently. Much of the opening finds the vampires arguing over whose responsibility the errant servant is. Nandor is happy to share ownership of the young man who slew the upper echelon of blood-thirstiest suckers in the northeast.

We're finally starting to get some answers.
Sure, there's still a lot we don't know, butStargirlSeason 2 Episode 3 helped answer of few of the season's more pressing questions: What is The Shade doing in Blue Valley? Who will yield Thunderbolt? Will Courtney pass summer school?
Ok, maybe the last question is a bit of a stretch, but this season is shaping up to be a good one.
First off, let's take a moment to congratulate the series on finally striking the right balance of honoring the source material while still providing new and engaging storylines.
This may be a point of contention among some fans, but I fall into the category of series taking their cues from the original mythos and then making it their own.
Pat: Still zipping around I see.
Thunderbolt: I can't believe you built this. If Starman had seen it, I'm sure you would have promoted you from sidekick to,...

Courtney Whitmore was more than a little green with envy in this week’s episode of DC’sStargirl.Elsewhere, the ruthless and power-hungry Eclipso claimed his first victim!
The second episode of Season 2 opened with a a brief flashback to just six days ago, where Jennie, the young woman that Court just faced off against in the kitchen, effectively “aged out” of the Milwaukee group home where she had been living. First, about that “others” in the post title:Marguerite Sauvagedrew one of the six issues collected here,Ande Parksinked the pages set on Meta,Kelly Fitzpatrickcolored all of it, and several other artists contributed to the back-up stories. Including all of them would make it look like a law firm.
ButCecil Castellucciwrote all of it and Marley Zarcone drew all but the first issue in Shade the Changing Girl, Vol. 2: Little Runaway, so it’s reasonably fair to attribute it to the two of them. And it is, as you might guess, the immediate sequel to Vol. 1: Earth Girl Made Easy, by the same team, and concludes the initial arc of this comic.
I thought this Shade was going to be focused on the alien-in-high-school thing, but I was wrong: the first issue here blows that up to send Loma Shade off on her own journey across America,...

Today at New York Comic Con, the stars of DC’sStargirljoined creator/executive producerGeoff Johnsto recap Season 1 and tease what’s to come in Season 2.
During the virtual panel with actorsBrec Bassinger,Yvette Monreal,Anjelika Washington,Cameron GellmanandMeg DeLacy,Johns said that we can expect “a lot of bad guys, and a lot of bad things happening” in the series’ second run. “Everyone’s got a great journey ahead inStargirlSeason 2,” he added. “We broke the season a long time ago, but [we’ve now] broken the season even deeper.”
One of the main antagonists set to clash withStargirl’s Justice Society of America in Season 2 is Eclipso, a life essence trapped inside a blue diamond. Once owned by the Injustice Society of America, that diamond was stolen in Season 1 by DeLacy’s Cindy, which will result in problems for the Jsa going forward.

‘The Way I See It’ Review: A Love Letter to Obama Through White House Photographer Pete Souza’s Lens
Every four years, a few months before the presidential election, a batch of strategically timed movies materialize in hopes of engaging voters and influencing the outcome. Some are merely opportunistic, others downright propagandistic, but few have a shelf life past that first Tuesday in November. A warm, softball profile ofPete Souza, who had the unusual honor of serving as official White House photographer for two presidents of opposite parties,Ronald ReaganandBarack Obama,“The Way I See It”feels like it could carry on being relevant to audiences for decades to come.
Saving its political agenda for the end, the documentary — which is told through a mix of voiceover, video footage and iconic stills from Souza’s copious photo archives — opens with the image maker’s memories of Obama’s last hours in office. He explains how the transition of power and witnessing the inauguration felt from where he stood,...

There really are no other words to describeStargirlSeason 1 Episode 13, as the season finale was visually stunning and executed perfectly.
Along with doing a fantastic job in bringing this chapter to a satisfying ending, the new developments introduced at the end of the episode had me clambering on the edge of my seat with excitement.

To start, let's dissect the biggest "surprise" of all:Starman's alive.

Daniel Warren Johnson is doing some of the best work of his young career taking Wonder Woman to the end of the age of man.
My first experience with Daniel Warren Johnson's comics work was probably his Image book, Murder Falcon, and my first thought was "Oh wow, he's new Stokoe." He's got a very similar vibe - that immaculate attention to detail, the panels that bubble over with imagination, and there's a wryness that I think is very subtle in both artists that people don't appreciate as much because the other skills are so immediately apparent.
But after thinking about it, and pouring over these exclusive preview pages of Wonder Woman: Dead Earth #2, I think I'm leaning towards Geof Darrow being a better comparison.Dead Earthhas a little bit of aShaolinCowboy feel to it, and Johnson does some things very well, and...

Warner Bros. has had a rough few years. Enviously eyeing theMcU’s success, they decided there was no reason they couldn’t do the same with their stable ofDCheroes. It often seems like women have almost as hard a time catching a break at country awards shows as they do on country radio, judging from the fact that neither the Cma Awards nor Acm Awards could come up with a single female to nominate for entertainer of the year for the last two years running. That women problem didn’t run over to the Cmt Music Awards, whereCarrie Underwoodwas not only nominated for the top prize Wednesday night but won it, picking up the fan-voted video of the year award for “Cry Pretty.”
That Underwood was not in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to accept the prize was nothing personal. She’d just finished an off-site performance of her new single, “Southside,” a few miles away for an outdoor crowd of glowstick wavers at the Parthenon. Underwood also won favorite female video for “Love Wins,” putting her tally...

Maren Morrismade her bones as one of country’s brightest new upstarts three years ago with her major-label debut, Hero. She introduced herself as a Texas songwriter with a sharp eye, a velvet voice and a mean streak, especially when it came to her irreverent attitude toward Nashville pieties. “My Church” was her profane hymn about hitting the highway, rolling down the windows and blastingHank Williamson the car radio. Heggra has rarely looked better in the new Female Furies book fromDC Comics.Check out an exclusive first look.
I'm on the record as loving Shade the Changing Girl/Woman, writerCecil Castellucci's last comic with artist Marley Zarcone at DC. It was beautifully weird, earnest and heartfelt and real, which is a ridiculous way to describe a book about an alien insanity vest that reanimates a dead teenager with the brain of an alien bird and learns to make friends. It was a wire to wire terrific comic that I've already gone back and reread.
I should have known thatAdriana Melowas going to impress, too. She has been a quality artist since her time onBirds of Prey. And her work on Plastic Man withGail Simonewas really good. But I did not expect to get a good Kirby impression out of her!

Young Justice tries something different with Triptych and largely succeeds.
This Young Justice: Outsiders review contains spoilers.
Young Justice Season 3 Episode 8
"Triptych" is exactly what the title implies: three adjacent stories that tell one bigger tale. It plays a little loose with the passage of time, but it also moves the ball further down the field than any episode yet this season and looks at the overarching story of Young Justice: Outsiders from a different angle, expanding the world in interesting ways.
The three stories are fairly straightforward: Nightwing and his Outsiders get a lead on where to find more information about Brion's sister and the League, so they head for a Detroit airport hangar where Shade, Live Wire, and Mist are waiting for their teammate, Cheshire, to get sewn up after taking a bullet at Star Labs, where they were stealing something Reach-related. I’m here because I’m looking backwards. Why else would any of us be reading the first collection of a nearly thirty-year-old comics series? [1]
I recently read the first collection of the current Shade the Changing Girl series, which reminded me of thisPeter Milligan/Chris Bachalo/Mark Penningtonversion, which began in 1990 and ran through 1996, ending after 70 issues.
It was a fairly typicalVertigoseries of the day, one of the many that followedAlan Moore’s template fromSwamp Thing:start with a minorDCcharacter, one as close to a joke as possible. Take him seriously, but not in comic-book terms — take him seriously in world-historical terms, bring in whatever other pop-culture or serious-culture material that energizes you and you can bolt onto it somehow. Run that character through horror plots, generally one or two issues long, each one encapsulating something frightening or appalling or norm-breaking.

This can’t be whatArnold Schwarzeneggerimagined 2017 to look like: Sure, there’s a reality star in the White House, the Chicago Cubs are World Series champions, and his arch-rival (/best celebrity friend),Sylvester Stallone,is a recent Academy Award nominee. Yet for the ex-governor of California, far more confounding is how he became an ex-celebrity.
Schwarzenegger spent his acting life amassing a domestic box office of more than $1.8 billion. That haul came from comedies, like “Twins”($111 million); science fiction, like “Total Recall”($119 million) and “Terminator2” ($204 million); or — his bread and butter — action flicks a la “True Lies”($146 million) and “Eraser”($101 million). But one unfortunate connection for all of Schwarzenegger’s films grossing $100 million-plus: They were all made before the year 2000.

Well, that's cringeworthy. Growing up with famous parents,Dakota Johnsonwas no stranger to a film set as a kid.
