This McDonalds commercial starring Owen Wilson caught me completely off-guard a while ago when of its debut of television. Jolly, funny, colorful
and with a kind of happinness that is actually contagious and exicitng rather than excessive and phony, it presents the star of "Marley & Me" walking
around the streets, enjoying his ice cream and as he walks by everybody in front of him begin to smile in a very enthusiastic way and he does the same
as well. Even a dog, a security guard watching him from a control booth, and folks on a traffic jam feel lightheaded and cool just to see Wilson and his
ice cream. As a soundtrack comes a catchy reggae/pop song to suit the mood.
The TV version is a little shortened, the internet version has a couple of extra bits. Anyway, it was fun to watch and it's a rare case of a
successful commercial that wasn't annoying, even though its just a recycled idea that worked - gets an extra plus since Wilson speaks Portuguese at the
end, which is a considerable effort for a non-speaker. And the song gets stuck in the head to the point of making me smile. Pa-ra-pa-pa-pa, lovin' it! 10/10.
