Mike and his friends have decided to love on bread and water, donating the money they would have spent on food to Oxfam, he encourages his parents to do the same, they agree, but Sid finds it hard, and does his best so sneak a snack when he can.
This was a fairly fun episode, with some amusing scenes, including that funny moment where Sid tries to shove a wedge of chocolate cake down, and of course that terrific moment where he cheats time.
Fair to say it's not the funniest episode so far, but it does benefit from the presence of Sid James, who is terrific here.
There was no such thing as intermittent fasting back in 1971, just note how slim the cast are.
There's no worse feeling than being hungry, and as I watch this episode, I'm doing a 48 hour fast, that chocolate cake made my stomach rumble, it looked so good.

Moonlit Dreams, a band from the 1980's are set to reunite, and perform at a concert after a lengthy hiatus, however the gig is placed in serious doubt when bass player, Luke Stone is shot dead.
One of the highlights from the second series, this was a very well written, clever mystery, with good characters, an intriguing murder, and a well imagined, creative solution.
The scenery continues to be breathtaking, the visuals were terrific, enough to make you yearn for the summer months.
I just loved the cast for this one, some real quality here, the super talented Mark McGann, and the terrific Sue Jenkins, better known as Jackie Corkhill from Brookside, it was nice to see a more mature cast.
Thought this was excellent.

Brenda is called upon to partner up with dance sensation John McCrea, for the finals of Go Dancing, a television contest, after his partner is injured. Further accidents happen to the remaining contestants.
On paper, I wasn't expecting much, in reality, this was an exceptional episode, one of the best from this series so far. A lot of time clearly went into the writing, production and performances, it was particularly good.
Another solid episode for Brenda, sometimes I find her a little too much, sometimes she surprises, she did here, she stood out, and clearly a young woman of many talents, she looked terrific.
Even Inspector Sullivan was back to normal, he was stern, serious and just more in character, unlike his inspector Clouseau from last week.
Homosexuals in dancing, unthinkable, that made us all chuckle here. On that note, Father Brown's attitude towards August Bestwick's sexuality was more realistic for the time.
David Westhead was excellent, such a versatile actor, and the presence of Angela Rippon was lovely.
