Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse(2018)
The second movie is great but this one is still better.
If anybody would write a review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2024, probably nothing new or unique element would be included in it, but here I am writing a Spider-Verse 1 review 5 years after it's release. Let's get into it!
Firstly I have to mention that the movie has one of the best animation styles out there. Everyone and their mother knows this, but I have to start a Spider-Verse review with this. It's just simply very beautiful.
Another great thing is how good are the characters in this film. Obviously we have the main ones like Miles, Peter B. And Gwen, but also it creates fun side characters and well written villain, but first let's see the main characters. Miles for most of the movie is struggling with his superpowers and being the least skilled among the spiders. Also we get to see his everyday life, his personal problems with his family, classmates etc., then Miles actually overcomes his weakness with his powers throught emotions and personal life and then at the end improving his relationships. Very nice. Miles is also quite likeable, so that won't be a problem either. There is also Gwen who is a compelling character, but she is further explored in the second movie, and we also have Peter B. Parker who delivers most of the humor and his mentor relationship with Miles delivers the emotional parts. However even the side characters have their own little stories to tell, and also Kingpin is an awesome villain.
It's quite obvious but the artstyle is amazing.
The story is also pretty cool and interesting, but some parts of the film feel a little too rushed for example conversations and stuff.
Oh yeah and the movie is filled with bangers. The soundtrack is just perfect.
This ended up being pretty long, but I feel like this movie deserves a more complex review. I personally suggest this movie to anyone with a very very basic spiderman knowledge, but I think it's good even without it.
