Knights of the Zodiac(2023)
As bad as Dragonball Evolution
Live action anime remakes that dont stick to the source material will always be bad
Why Toei allowed this to be made is beyond me.
They could have made a decent movie if they had stuck to the manga/anime story.
The story is already written for you! But instead they get some guy who likely never saw the anime to write it.
PLEASE stop trying to make anime live action,

Pacific Rim: Uprising(2018)
Poor, cliche of a sequel
A typical Hollywood sequel with all the poor, badly written sub plots and dialogue you can fit into a movie.
Main character is a rebel - CHECK
Hooded figure steals something main character needs - CHECK
Main character chases hooded figure - CHECK
Hooded figure turns out to be a girl - CHECK
Girl has bad "i can survive on my own" attitude - CHECK
So you can pretty much see where this is going. As soon as a part of the story presents itself, you kinda know how its going to turn out. The film is just that predictable. They also bend common sense and the story to suit their needs a little too much... I wont go into details because spoilers.
When the main actors from the first movie dont want to return, you know they saw the script and were like "hell no".
The movie is fun, great CGI and all that, but it felt too stupid. They could have done something so much greater than what turns out to be an episode of power rangers with better graphics.
If John Boyega hadnt been in Star Wars, would they have even bothered releasing this in the cinema?
Looking at some other reviews on this site, there seems to be a bunch of them, all from around the same week, that rate the movie 8/10 or higher. Smells like someone paid for some positive reviews to keep the IMDB score high.
The Cloverfield Paradox(2018)
Just No
This movie would have been better off if it hadnt been linked to the Cloverfield Universe, as may have originally been intended. The movie's original name "The God particle" appears more fitting and wouldnt have carried the expectation that a Cloverfield movie carries with it.
If we assume the original Cloverfield movie was set in our universe, then this movie (set at the same time) starts out by stating there is a serious energy crisis and uses technology we dont have to try and resolve this. They use tech on the space station (which doesnt exist) that would clearly be at least 20 years in the future from 2008 when its supposedly set.
The film tries to explain away the unusual happenings in the previous 2 CF movies by introducing the "parallel universe" concept and that creatures can cross over or even appear in the past and future.
From what I recall, the Dharma initiative (from LOST) were meant to have something to do with the CF monster appearance and deep sea oil drilling.
This movie descends into the usual "astronauts stuck on space station" cliches with things happening for no reason other than "it says so in the script".
How JJ Abrams put his name to this I dont know...
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi(2017)
Just how??
**SPOILERS**
How could they let this happen to what is probably the biggest franchise in history?
Set aside the poor story where events are made up just to keep a character busy and in the movie, otherwise Finn wouldnt have been in this one..
Snoke is supposed to be this new super evil force power, but is snuffed out by someone supposedly weaker than him at the time?
And how about the millions of fans who waited over 30 years to see Luke Skywalker on the screen again..and had their hearts broken by what they saw and walked away disappointed. Where was the epic show of his powers to send shivers up my spine?
What a waste.
Freedom(2006)
Simply amazing!
There are actually seven 25min long episodes and a 6min prologue. I don't understand why this anime hasn't been publicised more by the studios or even by the American company which holds a licence and released a blu-ray version in the states.
It was created as promotional material for a noodles brand in Japan (which the characters regularly eat), but is still one of the best animes i have seen, comparable to Akira but without being as confusing in places.
Keeping the look of the traditional hand-drawn animes but still remaining modern, FREEDOM is a visual masterpiece, and includes character design from Akira's Katsuhiro Otomo. I cant decide if this would have been better off as one long movie or if the episode "cliffhangers" make you want to watch more.
You will have to see it for yourselves!
Ong-Bak(2003)
nice moves!
Not your run-of-the-mill martial art film. Although the plot maybe a little thin and predictable (Village boy meets city), the acting like a rainy day (nothing special) the Kick-ass action is quality stuff. Forget the usual Japanese/Chinese kung fu flick, this is MUAY THAI baby! That means elbows, knees and a LOT of blows to the head. Although some say the main guy is the new "Bruce lee" (Wot a load of rubbish) he is like Jackie Chan, doing similar stunts over fences, cars, people and on tables. You need to make up your own mind on this. And I think we Will be seeing a lot more of the actor in western films in the near future, just as it happened with Jackie and Jet Li. Overall......WATCH IT!
