Sheriff Richard Fuller got his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Kellogg Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University. After college he began work as an EMT at the Marshall Fire Department in 1986, became a firefighter in 1987 and then finally a police officer the next year. He started working at the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office in 1989 and worked his way up the ranks, finally getting elected to Sheriff in 2008 and then re-elected again for a second term in 2012. Sheriff Fuller is an Advisory Board Member of the Learning Network of Kalamazoo, Vice Chair of the Office of Community Corrections and a Board Member of the Michigan Prisoner Re-Entry Initiative.
