So, it's no surprise that people will be trying everything from savvy hacks to cosy household items as temperatures drop.

And one savvy shopper has told how they found the perfect solution - B&M's £24 heater which has also proved popular with her friends and family.

Hannah Smith, 28, said the 3000W Blaupunkt high-power fan heater only costs 81p an hour to run - and heats up a whole room in just 10 minutes.

The midwife, from East Kilbride, told the Scottish Sun that she swears by the heater and vowed to use it all winter.

She said: "I purchased a heater from B&M for £24 last year and use it in the winter months.

"As I mostly relax in the living room in the evenings, I close my internal doors and use my plug-in heater to heat the one room which I’m mostly in for a few hours before bed.

"The higher the wattage depends on the hourly cost.

"I have a 3000w plug-in heater which costs me 81p an hour or thereabouts.

"I’ve told all my friends and family about this money-saving hack so they have all went and purchased the same heater and found that it has made a considerable difference to their heating bills too!"

Hannah even swears by the mini heater when she's running baby massage classes.

She said: "I use a small plug-in heater to keep the babies warm too", adding that it works "within 10-15 minutes for a small to medium-sized room."

Hannah started running her own business, Mama & Me, at the beginning of the year and has her own studio in Covault.

And she posts updates on how to keep families warm on her Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Describing the heater on their website, B&M bosses describe it as "the cost-effective, quick and easy solution for a cosy home."

They added: "Save money on your energy bills with an electric heater from B&M Stores. This compact fan heater is as versatile as it is powerful.

"Blaupunkt electric heater boasts a clean and sleek design, with an adjustable thermostat for instant control of your heating."
