Full list of cancelled firework displays in Scotland this Bonfire Night – and the ones going ahead

SOME Scottish councils have cancelled their Bonfire Night events as they struggle to afford the expensive firework displays.

Spiralling costs for the displays have put financial strains on some councils nationwide.

However, others are still set to go ahead with displays for the event.

Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Night, is celebrated every year on November 5.

Councils have confirmed that the following displays have been axed due to skyrocketing costs:

  • Glasgow Green Display
  • West Winterfest Fireworks in Dumchapel
  • Inverclyde Fireworks
  • Clydebank Fireworks Display

However, other displays across the country are still set to go ahead.

These are a mix of council-run and community-run events.

The following events are set to go ahead on the weekend of Bonfire Night.

Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire

  • Aberdeen Fireworks Display - Queens Links, on Sunday, November 5 at 6.30pm.

Clackmannanshire, Fife, and Stirling

  • Anstruther Firework Display - Harbour Area, on Sunday, November 5, at 6pm.
  • Blairdrummond Bonfire - Briarlands Farm, on Saturday, November 4, at 6pm.
  • Inverkeithing Firework Display - Ballast Bank, on Sunday, November 5, at 6pm.
  • Knockhill Firework Display - Knockhill racing circuit, on Saturday, November 4, at 6pm.

East, North & South Ayrshire

  • Kilwinning Firework Display - McGavin Park on Dalry Road, on Monday, November 6 at 7.30pm.
  • Cumnock Firework Display - Murray Park, on Sunday, November 5, at 6.30pm.
  • Newmilns Gilfoot Firework Display - Jamieson Park, Sunday, November 5, at 6.30pm.
  • Rankinston Firework Display - Littlemill Place Rankinston, Football Field, on Saturday, November 4, at 6.30pm.

Falkirk

  • Falkirk Firework Display - Callendar Park, Sunday, November 5 at 6.30pm.

Highlands

  • Civic Bonfire And Fireworks event - Bught Park in Inverness, on Saturday, November 5, at 5pm.

North & South Lanarkshire

  • Lanarkshire Firework Display - Strathclyde Country Park, on Sunday, 5 November, at 6.30pm.
  • Halfway Community Fireworks - Newton Station, on Saturday, November 4 at 6pm.
  • Lanark Firework Display - Lanark United Football Stadium, Moor Park, on Saturday, November 4, at 6pm.
  • Strathaven - Strathaven Park, on Saturday, November 4, at 6pm.

Perth and Kinross, Angus & Dundee

  • Perth Round Table Bonfire & Fireworks Night - South Inch Park, on Sunday, November 5, at 7pm.

Glasgow

  • Glasgow Fort Firework Display - Glasgow Fort on Sunday, November 5, from 11am-9.30pm.

Mid Lothian & East Lothian
