Piers Morgan irks locals as he celebrates England’s latest Euro 2024 win in Scotland’s ‘most iconic pub’
The locals weren't entirely happy!
PIERS MORGAN insisted he could think of 'no better place' to glory in England's latest Euro 2024 triumph than 'Scotland's most iconic pub'.
The Sun columnist wrote earlier in the tournament about how fun Scots had led the way at this Euros - despite the 'vicious' Rangers vs Celtic rivalry.

But he couldn't resist noising up the locals a little as he celebrated England's victory on penalties against the Swiss at a pub in St Andrews.
After a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes - the same score Steve Clarke's team managed earlier in the tournament - Jordan Pickford saved Manuel Akanji's penalty and Trent Alexander-Arnold converted the clinching spot kick as Gareth Southgate's men marched into another major semi-final.
Morgan was clearly overjoyed by the moment - even if he revealed that some of the locals weren't quite so happy.
He was situated in the Jigger Inn, part of the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, situated a matter of metres from one of the most famous fairways in world golf.

This historic building dates back to the 1850s, when it was the stationmaster’s lodge but now it boasts golfing memorabilia, crackling open-hearth fires, home-cooked food and selection of Scottish beers.
Sharing a picture of himself outside celebrating Morgan wrote: "No better place to celebrate England’s win than in Scotland’s most iconic pub.
"The locals weren’t quite as happy as me."
Earlier in the tournament, Morgan wrote in his Sun column: "Putting on my United Kingdom hat for a moment, I have to say it’s being led by the Scots, who despite the catastrophically bad performance of their team in their opening game against Germany, have been a fantastically fun and entertaining example of fans from bitter rival club sides coming together as one for the national cause.
