After six years away from live comedy, it took time, therapy and a restraining order against her stalker to get Anna Akana back on stage — something she talks about in her Edinburgh Fringe debut, It Gets Darker.
“I was going to call it Dark and Dumb,” the 34-year-old YouTube star, who has 2.85 million followers, tells me from her home in Los Angeles. “Because I take a lot of dark topics and disarm people so they know it truly is OK to laugh.”
