Wikidata:Event Organizers
Event organizers on Wikidataare users who have access to extra features from theCampaignEvents extensionon Wikidata. This allows them to manage their events, WikiProjects, or other on-wiki activities more easily. Event organizers who use the tools from the extension have the following abilities:
- Create an event page in theevent namespace
- Add users (with the organizer right) as co-organizersof an event
- Enable registrationon event pages that they created
- Collect information onparticipant demographics,if they agree to a clickwrap agreement
- Participants can answer optional questions when registering on: Gender, age, profession, comfort level in contributing to Wikimedia projects, and if they are a part of any Wikimedia affiliates
- Editevent registration information
- Disableevent registration on event page
- See who registered for the eventand when they registered
- Removeparticipants from the participant list
- Send emailsto registered participants
- Generate invitation lists
Recommended requirements for rights
[edit]The following are recommended requirements for users to be granted event organizer rights. These criteria serve as a guideline and may evolve based on community agreement or consensus:
- Required for all applicants:
- No active blocks on Wikidata
- Must have read and understood the instructionson how to use the Event registration toolor watched thevideo guide series on Commons
- Additionally, you must meet one of these requirements:
- Experience organizing Wiki event. If you have experience organizing Wiki event, give clear examples of events you have organized or helped with, either within or outside of Wikidata. This should include links to relevant events as proof. These could be added to the"reason"section of therequest template.
- You are a Wikimedia affiliate staff member. An endorsement from your affiliate to support your application will be required.
- You have received a Wikimedia grant for an event

- Submit your request on therequests for permission page.
