Multi-lingual or not?
[edit]Currently the data type is mono-lingual. Should it be converted?
We should be restrictive to string types, so please do not create them as fast. Is the allowed values a limited set - meaning that we can create items for each of them?
The property is still not used in any item.Mange01(talk)02:21, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you very much to complete the information of the property: In creating other properties in future, I will use this scheme. I used this property inAndromeda Galaxyas example! Is there a bug? I evaluated the possibility to use a multi language string, but the morphological classification is rigorously established (seeherefor example orthisprofessional article). I checked Andromeda Galaxy voices in all languages (with latin and non-latin fonts) and, where the classification is present, the same latin characters are used. So, in my opinion, mono-lingual string type is enough for this property. --Paperoastro(talk)13:30, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Hubble or more general?
[edit]I'm no astronomer, but is it appropriate to refer to this as a Hubble sequence? The English label corresponds toen:Galaxy morphological classification, which lists a few classification systems, of which the Hubble sequence is only one of. However, the German label is "Hubble-Sequenz", and that's what, quickly scanning, the submitted values seemed to be. Which should be the final label?Enoirdi•talk13:54, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- As explained in the incipit of the articleen:Galaxy morphological classification, the most used (by astronomers) and famous classification system is the Hubble sequence and its revised version proposed by de Vaucouleurs and Sandage, so, imho, there is no possibility to refer asgalaxy morphological typeand intend another type of system. Thanks to this discussion, I'm going to add also the aliasDe Vaucouleurs classification systemandHubble sequenceto the property. Concerning the interlinks to the English articleen:Galaxy morphological classification, you have right: probably is better to create another item for the articles that explain only the Hubble sequence. --Paperoastro(talk)21:54, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
format constraint
[edit]set it [a-zA-Z()]+ so at least html and wiki syntax isn't alowed. --Akkakk23:28, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- added ( bc)?( pec(uliar)?)? to allow bc, be pec and peculiar --Akkakk10:33, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
