EU Pact on Migration and Asylum

The European asylum system should be more efficient, resilient and fair. As an associated Schengen/Dublin state, Switzerland will participate in the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum – voluntarily and selectively.

Switzerland and the European Union

The Federal Council’s primary objective is to consolidate and further develop the bilateral path with the EU via a package of new and revised cooperation and market access agreements. At its meeting on 26 June 2024, the Federal Council took stock of the current negotiations.
