Tsinghua University Education Foundation (TUEF), founded in 1994, is the first university education foundation established in China following the reform and opening up of China. The objective of TUEF is to foster the development of education in China, improve educational quality and academic research, advocate the culture and vision of Tsinghua University, and strive for philanthropic support from domestic and international organizations and individuals. TUEF actively raises social resources, constantly optimizes project management, and steadily promotes the preservation and appreciation of value in efforts to help Tsinghua University move towards the goal of becoming a globally leading university. TUEF fully leverages the advantages of scientific and technological talents in Tsinghua University, supports public welfare services, and boosts social progress and human welfare through the development of education.

Actively explore new philanthropic models to support development strategies of the university and country. Concerned with major issues such as basic scientific research, TUEF has, in recent years, raised resources to support colleges for strengthening basic research and strategic research fields such as artificial intelligence, carbon neutrality, climate change and public health. In 2018-2021, TUEF implemented "Better Tsinghua", the first strategic fund-raising action among Chinese universities, with five focuses on Masters, Talents, Academic Research, Campus Construction and Public Welfare, to actively explore a new paradigm for the development of university foundations with Chinese characteristics. Given the new social and economic situation, TUEF is committed to systematically exploring and maintaining the donor group, and comprehensively launching small-scale fund-raising projects with departments as the service targets and alumni as the main body of fund-raising, laying a solid foundation for the substantial increase of alumni donation rate, and actively exploring innovative donation forms such as equity, inheritance and trust.

Launch brand-building projects to raise the profile of public welfare in universities. TUEF raises public awareness of public welfare concept of universities and the value of philanthropy through targeted brand building projects. Harnessing the visibility of high-profile university celebrations such as the opening season, graduation season, anniversary season and Teacher's Day, TUEF publicizes the university’s public welfare culture, shares inspiring examples of philanthropy and launches brand activities such as “Tong Dao Zhe Shuo” (Talks of the Like-Minded), “Gong Yi Jiang Tang” (Public Service Lectures), and “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” (New Talks of Teachers). Widely followed activities such as these present the achievements of the donation projects to society, carry forward the spirit of charitable donations and create a public welfare culture with Tsinghua characteristics. In addition, the TUEF has actively organized and held "China University Foundation Development Forum" and "University Public Welfare" forums to raise the profile of university public welfare and enhance the social influence of the TUEF.

In the future, the TUEF will continue to explore and innovate, with Tsinghua University's "2030 Development Goal" as the core, build a world-class university foundation with Chinese characteristics as the goal, continue to play a leading role in the public welfare sector, strongly support the construction and development of Tsinghua University,andserve the national strategy and promote social progress.
