Kolkata, the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal, spans an area of approximately 206 km²and has a population of  around 6.2 million. Kolkata is referred to as the “City of Joy”  and stands as a prominent commercial, cultural, and educational hub in eastern India. The city is also hailed as the hometown of three Nobel laureates: Tagore, Raman and Mother Teresa.
